VS AMMO SLOT

Tantra / Thew bomblet / Potestas Bomblet.


Which is best? If 8 atk in the minds of some beat out 2 str of Tantra, Would the additional 7 atk on Potestas beat out the 2 str on Thew bomblet? So by this logic, Potestas bomblet is best, but only if Thew bomblet was truly better than tantra to begin with.

i TP in thew although when i feel like spending 1.5M i would TP in the +15 attack one. but i change to tantra tathlum for VS. the 60% STR mod is high enough that i feel str is more important than attack. if you're getting glancing blows so much that you truly need more attack, eat a bun.

From what I recall from MNK gear threads, those who used tantra for TP were laughed at.

Just store Tantra unless you use it for Chakra

He was asking WS. And tbh, tantra for a focus down set is acceptable, though mantis eye is easy to get for all but the most VW-phobics.

As for WS..

Assuming 440 skill for 48 base dmg, lv90 veret for +35, puts you at 83 base dmg.

Going to use this as an example set for the math..

Assuming also 100 base str.

Dmg 83
Str 100+82 (including the 2 str present in both pieces, counting +2 str from tantra vs +5atk from thew.
Atk 571

Stats in question = 2 str vs 5 atk (2 str giving 1 atk, reducing the open attack difference by 1 so as to simplify things).

182str = 109.2 dmg, 192 dmg total on WS before http://fTP.

ftp 2.25+3)1.08 = 5.67.

Dmg on VS = 1088.64.
Atk on VS = 571.

+5 atk: 5/571=0.88% increase.

+2 str: 2str = 1.2 = 5 dmg increase after rounding then http://fTP.
5/1088=0.46% increase.


Overall: thew wins in acc capped situations. For uncapped tantra will win - but mantis will often pull ahead of both if uncapped acc.

Depends on pdif also (since your att/mob def ratio has a cap).

Assuming buffs I have:
Tantra on trash mobs (and chakra!)
Bomblet on high defense mobs
Mantis Eye/Tantra with accuracy uncapped.

Without buffs, Bomblet on trash mobs. Of course depending on mobs.

Obviously if you can cap attack without it, the extra atk on bomblet is wasted, but on anything that counts these days, and especially T5/6 VW atk is incredibly important. Sorry I assumed this went without saying.
