I have been working on farsha at leisure for a while. i have turned in 35 discharges to the box. After some thought, i think i'd rather build bow, since farsha is relatively weak no matter what level. if i cancel the trial do i get the discharges back? or should i go ahead and finish anyway?
you cant get them back. most people hold onto the items until they have all 50, especially now that they stack

Is there a way I can turn my redemption into something else? When I made it, I had no intention of making relic :x

You do get the stuff back, if I remember correctly. S'why you can get your +2 items and +1 seals back if you go to the box with the item... I think?
Unless SE has changed it - and I can't remember having read anything about them doing that - you will not get items that you have turned in towards a trial, back if you cancel said trial. At least not for empyrean weapons. I know this because I have done just that myself.
