[dev1076] Healing Adjustments

  • As part of a continued overhaul of healing potency, the calculation of certain bonuses will be adjusted as follows:

    • Current Method
      • The following enhancements stack with each other for a combined bonus of no more than fifty percent:
        "Cure" potency + / Potency of "Cure" effect received + / "Waltz" potency + / Potency of "Waltz" effect received +

    • Revised Method
      • (1) "Cure potency +" and "Waltz potency +" will stack for a maximum bonus of fifty percent.
      • (2) "Potency of Cure effect received +" and "Potency of Waltz effect received +" will stack for a maximum bonus of thirty percent.
      • (1) and (2) may then stack for a maximum bonus of ninety-five(*) percent.

        *The final value will be calculated in two stages, with (2) applied to the enhanced value of (1), allowing for a total bonus greater than the sum of the two percentages.

So... they're making it how it should've been all along? Even though the Potency cap was already 50% and Received should've always boosted what you were cured for, including the potency. Some of these Dev Responses... they confuse me... or more so, why this wasn't implemented this way in the first place.

unless they add cure received bonus on useful gear(particularly oshi stuff) i cant see this meaning much or did i misread what the dev post meant?

also i didn't know cure received bonus didn't stack with cap lol ..only that 1 earring in game that has cure received?

Something like that, which is why I kinda wonder they even bothered posting this in the first place. Then again, they could be implementing new gear with more Received+ on it.

lol "cure potency +" and "waltz potency +" will both cap at 50%

Waltz didn't cap at 50% before.

Potency of cures and potency of waltz's are going to have the same cap of 30%.

If you have gear for enhancing cures casted on you by 30%, and someone else has gear for enhancing cures by 50%, then the cure amount is calculated by 50% first, then calculated again with the 30% making it a total of 95% increase from the base cure.

The cure spell revision as in updating the cure equation and modifying it for cure 4 and below?

If you cured for 500 with waltz and have 50% waltz potency you would gain 250 HP making it 750 HP, but if your target also had 30% potency received then you would gain another 225 HP making it 975 HP, or exactly 95%.

500 + 50% = 750 + 30% = 975 HP
500 + 250 = 750 + 225 = 975 HP

0.0 That is actually a good update for dnc :o There isn't any Waltz + recieved gear yet (I don't think) but just the potential of it....

Multiplicative, just how like Dual wield and haste works on reducing attack delay.

So part of me hopes that they'll add gear with + Cure effect received on it, but more importantly I wouldn't mind seeing a job trait that adds +10 cure effect received or something (Maybe for PLD!). The problem is with the gear that it's kind of situational.
Take the Oneiros earring for instance. Sure, it has a nice effect, but would you really wear it instead of a different earring for 5% better cures received? Probably not.
