Can we get a requiem buff?

I'm pretty sure they nerfed the hell out of requiem during the days of brd tanking / brd dot kite. Since then we've seen rdm dot kite (back when it mattered) and now sch has a dot that chews requiem to pieces.

It's not asking MUCH to just want the spell to do something.... you know since i have a full set of the damn things.

Also, buff cheese sandwiches.

Or at least give it an added effect aside from the dot......

Requiem is useless ; ; I'd agree. Would be nice to see more use for it. Mob attack down would be nice.

I remember hating requiem cause it NEVER landed, and when it did, it was mobs that we'd normally BLM nuke -> sleep method or somethin :|. Thanks SE for the awesome song of FoT(Fail over Time).

Added effect would be nice, like Attack, Defense, Accuracy, Evasion or something of the like :/

There's a 2 song debuff limit anyway so even if they gave us multiple awesome debuffs, they would be limited to a degree since you get to pick two.

I really wish they would have stuck with making the new song a magic def down like they originally suggested. There aren't many sources of that type of status.

As it stands there isn't much for a brd to do to the mob. Elegy of course and I'm not complaining about Elegy. Even if they never give us massacre, I'm still happy with the potent impact it has on most mobs. If you don't have a whm or a rdm then you can nocturne the mob but it doesn't stack with addle. The only use I've seen is that mobs like sisyphus can't reflect brd songs back at you using his status aura so it's better to use pining nocturne than addle.

Just to make sure I wasn't getting my mind blown after all these years, I went outside and Requiem'd, Threnody'd, Elegy'd, and Nocturne'd a Tabar Beak and all of the song debuffs wore off independently.

Yeah, If I'm in an alliance with someone with addle I have..... requiem and elegy. I can't land a 7/tick BROKEN dot while some half naked sch next to me lands a helix for 20/second (180 over 9 seconds or w/e) every cast.

Well... good to know but too bad it means little to nothing anyway huh? I wonder where that info came from. I'd assumed it for years now.

Be cool to see some use in Requiem! Would like to put a Tier VII debuff to work, lol. They mentioned something about lowering mob's Requiem resistances in the "Job Adjustments Manifesto!" update notes. Hoping they didn't forget about it <.< Looks like they held their word to Marcato though. Still holding out on that Magic Def. Down song like Sekundes' first post mentioned, unless they just scrapped the idea and threw in Nocturne.



lol i hate that. nothing more depressing than "...has no effect." pop up after casting Nocturne. recently i've made it an effort for it to be the very first thing i put on the mob if I see a WHM or RDM in the party. beat 'em to the punch >:D
