been killing gorgers for about 7 hours now and still cannot learn quad. i got the gear and skill, way above the level required and all other spells came in a few kills, wtf gives with this one?

inb4 you learned it without noticing.I've had that happen to me a couple of times back in the day.Double check list after every kill and sort your lists!

to be honest i havent kept count, but i have seen it quite a few times. more often than not the mob will do quad but im just not learning it for some reason.

quite possible. one question though, is there any stat that i can boost that will aid with spell learning when it gets tough? int maybe?

Try to kill the mob within a couple seconds of it using the skill you want to learn. It supposedly helps increase your chances of learning. Though oddly my worse spell to learn was self destruct...

It's like that for blue mages everywhere. Some spells are 1/1 then others are 1/10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Just another myth, probably started by somebody who noticed everyone killing mobs right after they used the target move and not making the connection that hey, there's no point in keeping them alive after that.

I'm not conviced blue magic skill beyond the minimum needed will boost your learn rate either, but there's no proof either way. ***'s just frustratingly random sometimes.

If skill, chr, vit, provokemods, etc. have any effect on learning blue magic, they're so slim that they're immeasurable. It's all random luck, you learn it or you don't (provided you have the appropriate skill level to learn the spell in the first place).
