Started running a mule again but having trouble with Switchmon. Seems it won't read any running windows at all. Everything else seems to be intact. It links up fine with controller can assign the R1 button and use it. Have run as admin, opening all windows before starting switchmon but still doesn't seem to be aware that they are there. Just wondering if anyone can help. I read forums and posted at windower but never got a responce. Also not the biggest computer tech person in the world so it maybe something simple but I can't figure it out and it would help tons over having to alt + tab all the time. Thanks for any help and if this is the wrong forum area sorry didn't see a place for tech questions.

Sorry I should of been more clear. Switchmon was suppose to allow me to alt + tab between windows with the use of a game controller. I play on one comp atm with one screen and have been alt + tabbing to switch between characters but it kills some reaction time and also doesn't allow me to "be lazy" I suppose and just use a controller which was the idea. The program itself seems simple and the menu's work fine like I said it reads the controller and the button assigned pulls up the mini window to switch bewteen windows. Its just not reading current windows open so I can't switch bewteen them.

are you starting XI before you run switchmon? if not that's your problem right there

EDIT: actually after checking the windower forums looks as if the program has been abandoned due to no one updating it since at least some time in 2010. multisend does indeed work great. Also if you have a mic, you could use speech recognition to swap windows (currently what i use)

I just downloaded this to take a look. I don't have a controller with me, so I couldn't test the actual switching.

I loaded switchmon, and then loaded FFXI. After refreshing in switchmon, it found the FFXI window I loaded. Not sure order is at fault here.

I use switchmon and it works fine. I open both instances of ffxi, then run the program as administrator. I have never had a problem with it.

Once I get back into the game (my month is up so need to reactivate), I will check my setting and see if there is anything special I did, but it has been a while since I first got the program.

Are you running a 64-bit OS? You need to download the 64-bit version if you are.

Yeah I dunno. Uninstalled and reinstalled open both ffxi windows then started switchmon up even switched to manual refresh and nothing. Have no mic and I know I could keybind alt + tab to my wireless keyboard but wasn't exactly what I was going for. Basically wanted it to for controller since I solo a lot and other then chatting with old friends I don't really use the keyboard much anymore. Was reading mutli-send but i'm not seeing how this applies to switching windows. All I saw were marco based commands for alt character. I mean its not a life breaker or anything and thanks for your guys I have been playing since NA release and will continue just was hoping to make things a little easier.

Logitech Gamepad F310. I did try that route to using its controller setup to try and bind alt + tab with its program but it never read the command. Looked on forums to see since I saw others trying the same is what brought my attention to switchmon because it was the option people keep talking about. Granted those posts are a year or two old for most.
