Not like this was really needed at all, but I'll accept this small update.
Inb4 they don't take it past the testing-phase because it's too overpowered

This update is really so that we can use Japanese for macro names. Right now, JP version must use English to name macros.

Which was something pretty silly to begin with ...

Ctrl+1 = Make players 1 and 2 invincible
Ctrl+2 = Rare drop
Ctrl+3 = Recover MP
Ctrl+4 = Mob loses HP
Ctrl+5 = Reduce mob to 10% health
Ctrl+6 = Clone rare item
Ctrl+7 = Automatically pop NM when ??? is up
Ctrl+8 = Automatically proc NM's weaknesses.
Ctrl+9 - Alt +9 = Just silly symbols
Alt+0 = Free King Behemoth pop.

In all seriousness though, minor update, might just make our macros...pretty?

It would be VERY fun cure *other players* for -99999 for a bit ...

But then I would be bored (or banned) shortly after the fist 20 or so cures (perhaps curses ?)...

Now, about the PS2, no it wont cause PS2 any issues. EVEN the US PS2 uses Shift JIS on the filenames it shows in english at the memory card browser screen. Funny, no ? But it's an JAPANESE developed system so it makes complete sense do something like that.

On the other side of the story, Nintendo is so XENOPHOBE it had the export version of the Game Cube not support Japanese text on save files names so that's why an USA Game Cube will try to format an Memory Card that had been used in a Japanese Game Cube. NOW, that is something really silly ... :P

I'd prefer 20 line macros. Loops are silly. They could add a Passive Palette for conditionals.

Just a general Test server question, Do you lose access to the test server over time? I was able to log in a while back and now I have this error "Valid Content ID not found." Any Ideas?

I was rather surprised that SE always forced player names to use roman characters in both FFXI and FFXIV in the JP clients. Lots of Korean and Chinese MMORPG's (even older ones made after FFXI's release) allow for various character sets and IME in both their UI's and in character names.

I am sure the limitation was (at the time) the inability to replicate names without an IM interface, but that's so basic nowadays.

Oh well. I did always figure the result of that was so many JP charas running around with "food" names, but I guess that's just how it goes... :p

Seems like something like this. I had the same problem when i went back to test recently. I just reapplied and got right back in though.

I seriously think this change is 1 line of code. Probably took one developer 10 min to do it, and then 3 people 4-5 hours to promote it.

^ its as simple as that. and the good thing about it is that they rescan your character. so if u update your gear/magian etc stuff on real servers, when you reapply to the test server, all the new stuff goes with you.
