Skill Ups Via Break Synthing/artisans Advantage.

Couldn't find an answer anywhere, so I would like to ask. During times of artisans advantage, what kind of break and item loss rate can I expect through break synthing? I will be aiming to stay in the 3-6 levels under recipe cap as much as possible.

Also, will eating Kitron Macaroons help me reduce loss and/or increase my skillup rates?

the break rate really depends on several things.
1) you can attempt any recipe 10 pts higher then your skill.
2) your more likely to break crystals on lightning desynthesis and synths in the 8-10 range over your skill level. 6-8 range is about right for skilluping. 3-6 range is very nice when you can find a bridge recipe.
3) your mog house element determines your strong crystal. If your moghouse is empty you will have very weak energy and more likely to have a increased break rate.
4) superstition ( what direction your facing when crystal synthing) does'nt appear to affect anything.) i don't believe in this one but if synthing in the dark in forest. i like to look at the stars and face in the color of the star of the same crystal.
5) superstition ( moon phase and vanadiel day affecting breaks) a lack of data however moon phase does affect fishing and people sometimes think crafting is better under a full moon or a waxing moon. i actually do look at this when i'm breaking crystals. but convinced that its the recipe difficulty not the moonphase that is breaking things.
6) superstition ( eating makes me craft better, really there is no evidence that eating anything makes you craft better. 2 maxed crafters crafting item still have about the same 5-6% break rate on hard synths and lighting crystal desnths probably have close to 50% break rate. the guy selling macaroons would love you to believe in such nonsense.
7) a recipe with a higher degree of difficulty 6-8 pts over will tend to give .2 - .3 skillup increases until you reach journeyman recipes over 50.

Isn't there sufficient testing on moon phase and day affecting crafting? I was just looking at the test data yesterday.

Also, I believe someone said that SE even listed the food as affecting crafting.

besides the food, I a really interested in item loss on breaks, since i will be break skillups during Artisans Advantage.


yea, i know all the possible superstitions, moon phase, directions, etc. A lot of people dont know that the directions thing is based on the stars, and that there is a colored star in each of the 8 directions.

i used to desynth, A LOT, using silver and mythril earrings > ingots. used to be a great gil method, till gil sellers, and random people picked up on it.
