Barrier Module: An earth-based automaton attachment.
Functionality: Increases chance of blocking with shield
Earth Maneuver: Adds Shield Mastery and shortens Shield Bash recast time

Percolator: A water-based automaton attachment.
Functionality: Increases skill gain rate

Vivi Valve: A light-based automaton attachment.
Functionality: Increases "Cure" potency

Disruptor: A darkness-based automaton attachment.
Functionality: Use "Dispel"

I love the defensive attachments they're giving PUP, and The Percolator (coffee maker lol) is a great tool for new PUPs. While the Vivi Valve and Disruptor don't necessarily fix the flawed automaton casting AI, an attachment that broadens the automatons spell list is a great idea. I've wondered if a sleep/aoe/buff attachment would be a good choice, and it's interesting to see an attachment for dispel (even if it is just *one* spell).

Depending on how many elemental points it takes up, I don't know if I'll be setting the cure potency one, maybe not even the dispel one :|

Well certainly all of these are situational. And I don't mind new toys =3

Well there was mention in the notes that conquest NPCs had an update... So maybe they will sell the attachments.

And if that's the case, then the next attachment update will be with Allied Notes! Time to spam campaign!

nvm just checked a Sandy Signet NPC... No attachments from him. And no new ones with Sanction

Seems they drop from GoV.

Skillup and dispel ones look like awesome additions!

Cure potency is pretty useless imho, a Cure VI always cure me to full anyway...

Not much to say about the other one, I actually don't get to play often with VE.

The automaton needs more procs - and be smart enough (through attachments) to know how/when to proc.

While yeah, I guess that might promote people using pup a tiny bit more often, this is like people demanding crit WSs on DRK and SAM (and in comparison drk/pld/drg have plenty of red procs, but that doesn't keep people from telling them to change jobs to WAR and NIN). I don't really want a job built around abyssea anyhow.

Argh. My fears confirmed.

Hope the drop rate is high enough that the price is reasonable.

I know the drop rate on some spell scrolls is so low that demand massively exceed supply but we're already looking at 4-5 attachments at 1m+.

It's a bit harsh to say the least.

I have hope after the last ones were purchasable.

As the description is "Use Dispel" as opposed to "Cast Dispel" I reckon it will be a bit like Eraser. Also, since you can use it on all frames (like Eraser) it would make little sense for RNG frame to cast Dispel, I think.

However, since there are a few other attachments that are activated by a Dark Maneuver which could clash badly with this (not that anyone uses them) maybe it will work a bit differently?

Overall these attachments just seem like a waste...

Skill up improvement?? Automatons are easy to skill up as it is.

Cure Potency...feels like a waste unless if has a hidden priority effect.

Shield mastery...I hope this ends up being useful

Dispel..Probably the only one of the 4 that is really a must have.

I dunno. I always have to have it all but to be honest none of these i will probably be seriously hunting.

my brother's automaton does 250-300 point shield bashes (and he was doing this BEFORE the attachment came yesterday, dunno what it's at now as he hasn't been home since friday)...my husband says it's cheating...lol

PUP is a crazy job...I'll probably never lvl it, not because I don't like it but because I can see myself becoming overly obsessed with having every little thing and I'd probably still suck...lol

dispel skill ups and some shield mastery all 3 seems nice/useful, but why the cure potency? i guess it might be nice for red hat bot with cure 4, but this is a poor means to get around the terribly poor cure AI priorities on whm bot. honestly i would of been happier if they addressed that first before working on these attachments.

on a side note, it says increases shield block, is that implying that previously it could block? valoredge has always been my fav bot cuz it doesnt piss me off, but i never noticed any reduced dmg...but then again puppet armor is about as tough as wet paper.

Not in my experience. It's horrible. My automaton's melee is currently capped at around level 80-83. I've looked for skillups on mobs from level 75 all the way up to IT++ in Abyssea and I never get more than 1-2 levels of melee skill in an hour.

What's your secret?

I solo'd 1-75 pre abyssea and never had any issues. Every 5-10 levels i'd take a break from xp and just skill frames. Made everything easy. Abyssea came out and i just skilled on NMs and xp parties and things went smoothly there too.

I'm not quite sure why Pup isn't wanted more in aby DD situations. 6 hit pummel can crit and its amazing, and the valoredge just recently got a 4 hit crit WS didn't it? I mean really, that can produce some silly dmg.

I frequently tank in the gimp-ridden EXP parties I usually merit in.

According to FFXI forums, the skill up attachment was found in Ordelle's Caves.

As you can see, I drove full speed to bring you this news! Might have hit a small child or twelve along the way, but now you know!

Percolator(Skill Gain): Ob (Possible), Ordelle's Cave (Needs Verification)

Also please mention where you got the attachments to share with the Pup community. Thanks fellow Pup.
