MNK and Brew
So yesterday i used a brew on NM Ningishzida to get KI for Alfard and i got it btw with no red proc ^^. My problem is i was only taking like 3-5% of hp off the mob per WS. Now this was my 1st time brewing anything and i want to use MNK to brew Alfard for the blue proc. But I think the amount of damage i was putting out is a concern. I'm not sure what i am doing wrong or if MNK just plain sucks for brewing. So please let me know what i am doing wrong. btw i was MNK/NIN mabey should have gone MNK/WAR.
Guessing you were using H2H?
Skill up staff, use Cataclysm. I *THINK* Cosmos/Smiting Blow/Ultimate are the best atmas for it, idk about brew atma for cata very well, but that's mostly your best choice for Monk brewing. If the mob resists magic damage in generally then Smite/Fury/etc work well.
Cosmos/Smiting Blow/Griffonclaw is what I use with cataclysm.
Flash nova is also viable if it's dark resistant, which case I use Beyond/Sellsword/Ultimate

Then ultimate is fine. Was just stating what I use is all.
So ur saying brewing with a Hand-to-hand weapon is where i went wrong?
Wonder if i use foot work with dune boots or something?

Ok , 1 last question here . does WAR have a decent WS to brew with?
They have a lot of elemental WSs to choose from. Which one they prefer, I don't know since I usually brew on my MNK since it's much easier to proc and then brew during blunt times.

RR SS Apoc spamming RR does very well for me.
But, WAR gets access to both cataclysm(I think?) and Sanguine blade, and those do well atleast.
doesn't sound right. 1-3% off its hp while brewed using any H2H ws just doesn't sound right at all. yes cata will produce superior results, but wtf were you using, shoulder tackle?
Of course mnk sucks at brewing when you have no clue what you're doing. (Hey, I rhymed.)

WAR can use Herculean Slash(GS Skill 290)
My guess is that he was probably using Asuran Fists.
You'd think that by now even the people who don't read these forums often would know that Elemental WSs are the way to go, just by word of mouth.
I have brewed Rani several times using H2H without any issues using Ascetic's Fury. I usually do 9-11% damage per WS. I have only ever used GH, RR, and Apoc Atmas.
