Final Fantasy 11 Graphics

Okay, so recently I had a problem with .exe files and all sorts of other stuff on my computer after I installed a Vista automatic update.I had to re-partition my computer's hard drive ::eek:: I know, all my data lost pictures, games, valuable information to me... Gone.
When I originally got my computer 2-3 years ago first thing I had installed was Final Fantasy 11 and all its goodies, Now that I have my computer running efficiently again I can't for the life of me figure out how to get my graphics for FF to be smooth again.

I'm currently dealing with the "Stairstep" graphics look, and just walking through PJ is a blurry jaggedy mess. I did a little research of my own on how to solve the problem and everything I've tried thus far has not done anything to fix the situation. When I go into Windower GUI I get a .net framework issue, and when I try to save a profile I get a registry key does not exist error. So I turned on Regedit and did a registry search for PlayOnline, and found it in Wow6432Node.


Is the problem lying that it's not in the Software folder independent from the Wow6432Node folder?

First you have to make sure that you have .NET framework properly updated. After that, you have to click the "x64" checkbox in the Windower GUI. Should let you edit it then.

You can alter the registry to change the background resolution.

The problem with FF11 is that the background resolution that you can set within the setup file is made for 2003 and only goes up to 1280x1040 or something. What you want to find is in your regedit go to HKey_Local_Machine>Software>PlayOnlineUS>SquareEnix>FinalFantasyXI

If you read in the link above you can find the background resolution and adjust it.

What you want to play with is 0003 and 0004 this adjusts it so character models are not as jagged. But make sure you put it in Decimal form when you adjust it. The number in parenthesis should be the desired resolution.

I managed to fix it... Now to just get my Windower back the way I had it before the wipe and I should be golden.

Anyone out there playing the game under 1680 x 1050 widescreen ?
If so, what is the background resolution that you're using? I've had jagged edges for sometime now, can't seem to get them to get fixed. So annoying now with the latest update.

I tried using Windower with my monitor's 3840 x 2160 resolution and it starts the game at a smaller size. I've run the game at this resolution prior to using Windower so I know it's properly configured via changes in regedit.

you have to change the setting in Windower as well, it overwrites any other setting.
