So how many of you watched this mornings proceedings at Buckingham Palace? Personally I still don't quite understand how a wedding has captivated so many people around the world, but I nonetheless found myself watching the highlights with a pleasant smile on my face!

Perhaps it is the perfect ceremony that many of us wish we could experience ourselves with loved ones that captures our hearts? It looked like one of those special occassions that puts the worlds troubles on hold and unites people in happiness.

As Canadians, some of us, not all, do still pay our respects to the Royal Monarch. Pictures of the Queen Mother, still preside in almost ever school system, bearing the Coat of arms in/at every school bearing the Lions and the Crest of England. The Queen's picture and the royal crest is still, a signature at almost every Canadian court, at almost ever level of gov't. So.. yes as part of the commonwealth, some ppl still see the Windsor Family apart of our daily ritual or apart of our heritage.

I gamed with my linkshell mates till about 2 a.m. EST, then talked till 3 a.m. I logged, and put a pot of coffee on, and glued in to the tele... the crowds looked well behaved and the fly-bys were awesome.. WW2 planes and then the Jets flew after...

Congrats to the New Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

I hear William has something like 4 titles now???

Duke of Cambridge
Count of Straithhorn
Baron of Carrick Fergus

but we know him as the Young Prince of England and quite possibly the Future King Of England.

Quite the responsibilities of such a young man.

Here's a memorable moment....

I assume you'll get married in subligar Sagi. I expect pics/vids to be everywhere when that happens.

Also most of the "proceedings" and the vows themselves were done in westminster abbey and not buckingham palace.

Buckingham palace is where they went after the ceremony, to make sweet, sweet love.

I don't get the hype over all this. It has gotten to the point where I just want it to end so it doesn't saturate the media.

People have said/told me that the infatuation with this is it a break from all the negativity in the world. Then why do I get so annoyed whenever I hear anything about it?

fixed a few things~

i stayed up all night and watched it, was really good.
i absolutely loved kate's dress! it was so beautiful

i think what really appealed about the wedding was that it was like a true fairy tale wedding, since kate was a commoner

Must be why there were about a million people on the sidelines this morning in London. Because they don't give a ***. :)

It's not that people don't give a ***. It's just that it's really divided. There's a large group that think it's pretty great, and there's a large group that don't care much for it.

Usually, nice things are ruined when they get spammed in your face weeks in advance. Regardless, grats to the newlyweds. I'd feel really guilty getting divorced after such a production. XD

I think it's the whole commercial aspect that has really ruined it too.

I'm not well versed on the British monarchy, but if they have the money, I don't see why they shouldn't spend it on a wedding for the possible future King/Queen. I just hope they don't collect taxes for this stuff. :p

I mean, who wants to see a King get married at a pathetic $10 million wedding!? /sarcasm

Hopefully now that it's over every media outlet will SHUT THE F UP about it and perhaps talk about something else.

I'm all for a wedding and all but seriously, when it eats up every media program out there... it's just sad.

The hype killed it. I'm sure it was a cool ceremony to attend in person but the persistent media hype being shoved down everyone's throat just ruined any notion of interest I might have had.

I, Agree. But really we have all weekend till it's over. Then we should be ok!

As a canadian I don't get it. I get why we care about the Royal family, and I don't. But WTF, is with the USA. If you love the royal family so much why did you break off. This has got to be the most unamerican thing I can think of to cover. By the way our former Royal family is having a wedding we should do 23 of 24 hour media coverage so everyone can love them again! There has been more USA media coverage of the wedding then there was in Canada.
