Is It Worth It To Start A New FFXI Account?

So it has been awhile since I have played FFXI. I took a break and was thinking about playing again. I've contemplation playing FFXIV instead but have read nothing but bad things about it. So my question is is it worth starting a new character on FFXI?

That depends completely on whether you want to play or not.

Yes i do! Just looking for feed on how the game is doing I guess. I've heard from friends that its "dieing"? And the thought of doing CoP again kinda makes me sad inside lol.

I wouldn't say it's dying. I'm on a relatively small server, and there's always shouts.

But then Abyssea is perfect for lowman and large groups really, so even with a lack of players if you have a decent shell you can achieve a lot.

As for doing old stuff... That's kinda annoying, but I'll let you in on a little secret:

I haven't completed CoP completely. I got to the point where I could buy the accessories and quit for a while. Now it's pretty unnecessary.

So... Don't sweat the older stuff, SE has made most of it really easy.

To add to what Flion said, COP is a *** joke now. So, don't sweat that.

If you have friends, yes.

If you don't have friends, probably no.

90 owns, 99 = god like mode for all the old stuff or thats the impression i get.
