FFXI Config?

I recently quit ffxi, and in order to get the download i had to get it off steam because i can no longer find my cd's for it..
now the problem is... theres no ffxi file.. which means i can use windower.. or even access the config to adjust controls or even screen resolution. .so i log on and the chat box is half of my screen, where can i get a ffxi where theres a physical file on my computer?
i kinda really hate steam alot recently..

I read this and it prompted me to make this.

the file is in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ffxi\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer (could be the FinalFantasy folder too)

ok now wer emaking progress.. i found the config.. but half of the characters are jsut ?'s and stuff haha...
