Out Of Curiosity

Anyone have a rough estimate on the number of NPC's? I can't find a full listing in one page and I'm too lazy to count. Sorry for the utter uselessness of this thread, but really, I'm curious.

I'm guessing from the Wiki page, since there is 200 on a page, then 200 * 193 = 39,400 npcs

It says Total which seems to mean total amount of NPC, not pages.

Considering there's 37,334 pages on the entire wiki, I doubt there's anywhere near that number.

3,763 seems about right. They count a lot of BS NPC's like Woundpatchers and everything in between too, so that adds a lot of weight when considering instanced or event NPC's.

I don't blame them for having generic named NPCs (Conflux Surveyor etc.) for Abyssea areas, they probably exhausted every human name for everything else in the past 8+ years.

Same goes for NMs, I'm surprised they haven't ran outta mythological names to borrow. I mean, c'mon, how many games end up using Zulu mythology? SMT can't even pull that off.

Yea I'd hate to be the guy to get the task of creating 1,000 more names for expansions.
