"Does a players overall Server Ranking have a direct correlation to their total Play Time on the on line game Final Fantasy XI?"

I'll start you out. Currently #700 on Leviathan Total Play time is: 193 days, 19 hours, 0 minutes, 31 seconds.
lol I'm ranked 666 on Cerberus and have probably triple DuzellLevi's playtime. I'll verify when I get home tonight. FFXIAH doesn't account for my Ukon however. I also haven't leveled a new job since 2008.
FFXIAH's rating system is severely based on jobs leveled and amounts of relic weapons you have. You would certainly need to define what "success" is and acquiesce what flaws FFXIAH's rating system has.

rank 402: 396 days 11 hours played, ffxiah doesn't recognize my caladbolg and I don't like leveling any other job than the ones I leveled.

I think it does in some cases but it depends on the player. When I quit I had about 1400 days playtime. However, I was not highly ranked because I was a lazy player.

Agreed. I could shed days off of my time from bazaar and from just leaving my xbox on and walking away lol.

Yeah sadly, I know the AH site doesn't take a few things into account. But it's the best I have to go by within the time permitted for the project. :(
i would note in the paper ffxiah's guidlines to "success". that being a player who spent a fair amount of time leveling jobs / crafts / doing missions / creating weapons. (not necessarily in that order). So be sure to differentiate between what a player would consider success, and what the system considers success.
