Close it..

Seriously, when I did play, it seemed like no matter what I did I ended up frustrated, so the most relaxing thing I ever did was close it and go do something else.

Everything. I play video games to relax so playing something stressful is counter productive to playing video games at all imo.

Not really, no.. I mean it was more fun because it was new, but once that wore off, it was the same.. I've never really been the MMO type of person, but I got addicted to FFXI, and then later FFXIV..

I've always been an FPS person though..

Hop on a low-level job and go duo level with my husband and his mule. Running around the starter zones on a level 10 is fun, it really is.

Sit in my mog house and send /tells to pals. I decorated my mog to be quiet and relaxing, so I like hanging out in there. I drag my poor friends in to see it and don't let anyone in that I am unsure about.

Weapon trials. Camp Serra on a beautiful, quiet beach for three hours looking at pretty scenery and watching a movie while I'm at it? If you insist, SE. :D

And this is also the reason I don't understand people getting mad at gil buyers and botters who don't effect (affect?) them.

Magian Trials are usually pretty relaxing for me. I don't think I'd have as many as I do if it wasn't.

Other wise I just go sit in a zone with pretty music and/or scenery and chat with friends.

Yup.

<_< FPS not Action Adventure.. First person shooter.. In actual play time (starting about 7 years ago) I've put in like 2-3 years playtime (easily, it's probably more) in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Battlefield 2, Battlefield: Modern Combat, Battlefield: Bad Company, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Call of Duty: World at War.

I don't really like Tom Clancy's anything, and I don't really like CoD all that much because it's just the same thing over and over again, nothing new added, it's the exact same game just with new weapon skins and such.. But I liked to play WaW because I like WWII shooters..

As you can tell I like Battlefield. Every game is a new experience..

I dunno, once the mining bots on Ragnarok got banned in Mount Zhaylom I found mining there quite relaxing.

Battlefield 3 soon.

I like all the Battlefields too, I own them all and played all of them a ton... well other than BFBC1 and BFBC2 because they didn't compare to BF2 and BF2142 imo.

BC2 was a lot better than BC1, but you are correct, neither compare to BF2. I got BC1 because I wanted something new... As arrogant as this will make me sound, I was too good in BF2.. It was rare I faced a challenge.. I mean even in packed 64 person games I was rarely anything lower than 1st or 2nd.

The only reason I go back to BF2 anymore is for the J10's.. I like all the planes, but the J10's are *** awesome. I bought a flight stick just for that game.

Sometimes I go out on boat rides and fish or go to nice places like puronongo isle and chill the *** out with my main-man carbuncle, I never use him in battle or anything anymore, but I make time to hang out with an old friend :P

I find that the game is relaxing in general and if something does frustrate me I just log off and do something else.

it's kind of weird, and i didn't even realize it until i encountered the question, but whatever itch xi scratches for me, i don't think it has anything to do with relaxing

if i want to relax, i generally avoid xi
