MDB Vs. MEB Side By Side Comparison

Would like to find some ppl who have side by side #s on meb sets vs the old mdb sets. Would mainly appreciate factual #s over formulas.
Don't have the brain compacity right now to figure them out even with a pen and paper ; ;
I haven't done any testing myself (yet) so sorry if the titles missleading.

If you are referrring to magic evasion it does the same thing as resist except for all elements... and the resist set vs MDB has been done to death and is situational

Yar, just meant magic evasion. Looking at the trials of magians and reading the formulas written I was wondering now if magic evasion sets are the way to go.
Using crappy iPhone to write and check these posts. It's not easy to edit/look for typos on it.

Magic evasion/resist sets are only good if you get enough to actually make you resist whatever it is which usually requires decent amount of stacking

If you totalize 400 magic evasion and the mob has 400 magic accuracy, you resist 50% of it's spells. If you downgrade to 390 magic evasion, you resist 40% of the time, with 380 meva you resist 30% of the time ... With 345 meva you resist 5% of the time, this is the cap. If you increase your magic evasion past 400 it's half has good : with 410 you resist 55% of the time ... with 490 meva you resist 95% of the time.

The hard part is reaching the mobs' macc minus 45. For info at 75 even match mobs had ~ 275 magic acc (let's say BLM mobs) while you had ~130 base meva. At level 90, even match mobs should have ~ 360 magic accuracy and you should have ~ 215 magic evasion (~ +4 meva per level). This means that you still need +100 magic evasion to start seeing results. Besically barspells from RDM are about enough to make the next 50 elemental resists match -50% magic damage taken and the next 100 another -50%. At higher levels mobs will have ~5 magic accuracy gain per level probably (similar to players) so against typical +7 level mobs you need ~35 more magic evasion :


weak mobs (<= level 90) : barspell + x elemental resist = -x% magic damage taken if x <= 50 and -50% -(x-50)/2 % if x >=50.
strong mobs : require ~ 270 to cap out resist, 180 to resist half of them.


What's cool with magic eva is that you can almost nullify the damage unlike typcial mdt.

You can't. Think they just tested meva vs resist or applicable stat once the actually meva gear came out but the formulas working that out I beleive were tested and made before there was meva gear

130 was the base magic eva at 75? Wasn't it 230? i remember seeing somewhere that our base magic evasion is equivalent to a c skill rating.

who said you only had to use gear meva only ¿ Barfire is a spell I hear, so is addle.

1 fire resist works the opposite way as 1 magic accuracy, and 1 meva being the same as 1 fire resist to all element is speculation.

The testing was done awhile ago. If you want to see it done again do it yourself. Because no one is going to go thru macc/meva testing when info is already out there. It is a very long exhausting process. And pretty much has to be redone for each mob. If you actually read thru the post you'd have your answer
