When the 360 update came out on the 14th, did it lower the space on the 360 or do we have to reinstall it to take less space?

It lowered the space required to install updates.

Before:
Patch would download entire patch first then copy the new files on top of the old files then delete the temp patch files.

After:
Patch would download each patch file, copy the new file on top of the old file, then delete that temp patch file until all patch files downloaded/installed.


No, you don't need to reinstall as far as I understand. There shouldn't be any extra files hanging out.

anyone know about how many GB it takes up now overall with all current patches and updates? it doesn't seem to tell me in the memory setting of my xbox at least that i can find.

About 12GB and no it's not visible on the memory manager.

Also installing the FFXI disc to the harddrive is pointless because the console will keep the disc spinning even if it's installed. Meaning you're wasting another 6GB or so of harddrive space.

actually makes the disc spin w/o out the ginding sound if installed to the hard drive but cant install it to the hard dive i tried so yeah.
