Been recentley having alot of R0 / instant booting activites with the same errors showing up (POL 4001/4002/0512). How can i resolve these issues i searched on google for these and didnt find alot of useful hints to overcome and find out the culprit causing this. Have tried with and without firewalls, restarting router, opening all required ports, dmz etc etc.....
Router is a Belkin G+ wireless, ISP is Virgin Media, also worth noting i am always connected to the internet but only ffxi times out / boots/ R0's.

Having the same problem, actually. I JUST disconnected about 2 minutes ago so I was poking around here and saw this thread.
Unfortunately I don't know what the issue is or how to fix it, but I will be watching this thread.

And I just disconnected again >.>
Might be fixed in the maintenance in a couple days, but I wouldn't hold my breath for that.

No i never had this problem before i quit for a few months and returned in january and i seem to get the dc/R0 trigger every 15 - 1 or 2 hrs and sometimes i would be ok throughout an xp pt and then dc at the end. I have a feeling perhaps its time for a modem/router replacement either that or i have been entering the wrong port numbers but i dont think so.
Maintenance never fixes these R0 problems its usual up to ourselves to figure it out and fix, i play this on the pc but also have a 360 with live gold and that seems to temporarily dc after a few mins of being connected aswell.

I've never had issues with any other MMO as much as I have with FFXI, it's even less reliable on 360 for me, and my router is new and all my cords are functioning and I have a 100 MB/s connection speed, it's got to be something on their end that's messing it up. I was fine two days ago but for the last two days, I disconnect every 3 or so mobs while soloing.
And for what it's worth, not in Abyssea at all, just happened in North San d'Oria, and then in Tahrongi Canyon.

Modems die off too im sure my parents one is 7 years old, silly question but do packets pass through the router or modem or both?

2 other things that should be noted, my friend mentioned above has also been having similar problems, he has a slow connection and will dc like normal, however almost 100% of the time after his first dc when he logs back in he will instant dc without dropping outta R100. As for me i always seem to instant dc without dropping outta R100 when i have a web page pulled up in the background, if i have nothing but game running i almost never dc.

Lagging bad since yesterday too, assumed TalkTalk (ISP) messed up again. A few people have posted similar on the TalkTalk forums.

Its always talktalk, evertime an issue like this comes up. Its usually resolved in a few days but renders the game pretty much unplayable.
No more CC lantern's for me this weekend then =/

Ive been having similar problems but it seems to be a POL problem for me as ive seen several people "red dot" at same time.
hopefully todays maintenance (which isnt the server reset :( ) might flush out a few issues

This might not be true for all cases, but recently I found out that the government policy where ISPs can change the bandwidth for internet service during peak hours came into effect about 1-2 weeks ago. Basically if you don't have the ISP's most costly service, they have the right to limit your bandwidth whenever they want to. I notice every time they switch mine around 5:30-6:00pm when I DC from the game and internet is unusable for about 2-5 min. Thanks again US government!

Is anyone using the dreaded TalkTalk as ISP and not having connection issues? Would love to hear from you! Or did you all sensibly jump ship after the last host of problems?
Doubt it is the router at my end, first thing I did was restart my PC and router. Found 3 people in the TT forums all posting they have the same issues.

I'm on AOL (I think TalkTalk are run by AOL) and I've been having these problems for a while now, I waited for the update to see if it was perhaps server lag but no change, I'm about to to go and perform a wired connection to eliminate any problems with my router before I contact them.

I was experiencing connection issues last night while in in Port Jeuno and Abyssea - La theine. However I isolated the issues down to being only when I dual boxed myself and my mule. To go even further, I found that it only effected the second window that was opened. So if I opened my own first, and then the mule, the mule would be the one to have the R0 issues. My main would remain intact and stay connected. Further testing showed that whenever I used a macro for a job ability, or weapon skill, the game would R0 on said secondary window(for this testing, I logged out completely and made my main character the second one to be logged in).
Thoughts?

I've been having similar issue. Lots of R0 spikes. I reset my router and powered off my pc, and I was still R0, but not to the point of completely disconnecting from the game.
My wishful thinking, I hope it's a POL issue.
