Enjoy." - The Healer, Anna After the first boss I started a vote kick for harassment. Seems the other 2 people were just as annoyed as I was! A)Use this to stay out of hazards, not run straight into them. B)when actually getting hit and needing a heal moving closer to/orbiting the healer to ease their job. Unless I'm playing tank or there's a fight I specifically need to stand still on I hate doing so on most jobs, this is part of why I enjoyed MNK. C)Strafe not turn and run so you aren't losing auto attacks. I completely replaced normal left/right with strafes ages ago. XP

When a girl is picked to represent a company at a car show like SEMA, what kind of a mess does all those processes have to happen before someone is picked, and then what happens the day after... You will have to not only find the model, you have to get the car, design the floor display, the outfits, the hair and go through what to do and what not to do.. So in a nutshell, does it also come down to money and who is spending the most money.. In the yester years, guys would just get their girlfriends to model with their car, I know one speed shop that has his wife doing that, or used to. Take Toyo Tires, do they have a panel of judges or a talent agency that finds the girls they need and then do they interview them or just take it for granted it's another gig to them and they might or might not know anything about cars.. If they really don't care, then I would say just blend the Porn Award convention with the Auto Industry, if anything, you'll have some interesting photo coverage, there's nothing like selling a Lexus with Miss BJ 2015 sucking on the shifter knob... modeling agencies. *Edit* agency provides the girl and the company provides the branded bikini or whatever they wnat her to wear. Schizm, this is why I don't read an Import Tuner style magazine when I want to learn about cars. I read those when I want people to think I am reading about cars but I am actually fapping to hot azns. When I want to really know something about cars, I watch Top Gear for example. Although sometimes I just fap while listening to James May's sexy voice and looking at hot azns online. Beat Bloodborne, and I know for a fact that I missed some areas/events. I wasn't rushing, I just didn't know their solutions.

My old company (PRIMEDIA) used to publish "Import Tuner" magazine as one of the enthusiast titles among others like "Seventeen" and "Modern Bride" and "Lowrider" (I worked in the business-to-business side, not the consumer side, which had such wonderfully exciting titles like "American Hog Farmer" and "Rental Equipment Register".) As such, we got lots of discounts on related subscriptions, so I used to get "Import Tuner" as one of my freebies LOL. I remember reading the editor's remarks one day that if he wasn't able to get a "cover girl" model in by press time, he'd actually go to the local mall in his area and (pr0n-style) just go around asking pretty girls if they wanted to be in his magazine LOL. >.>;; Goes to show what kind of talent is involved, let alone their required knowledge of the industry, JDM, performance of various components, or tiering of OEM parts no? ^_- But that's how it is, sadly. It is essentially a "sex sells" appeal-to-demographic. Other magazines, like my brother's fave MMA ones like "Ultimate Athlete" and "Grappling" have cover-girl models ("Cage Girls") that have nothing to do with MMA...they are not athletes, and any reader can tell the difference between actual female fighters and the ones they feature on the covers. To their credit, though, in spite of this, the quality of the writing of these articles in "Import Tuner" or "Ultimate Athlete" isn't necessarily compromised. :p But even for my publishing company's industry (construction equipment) there was that same degree of sexist pandering. Every few years CONExpo (the big North American trade show held in Las Vegas NV) or BAUMA (the European equivelent held in DEU) had OEM's which featured females in skimpy clothes that were there just to get males to walk over and look at their display booths. Doesn't matter if the companies are huge like Caterpillar or John Deere or JCB or Komatsu, or smaller competitors like Sanyi from China, it's just the male-dominated nature of the industry/culture. :/ TLDR: "Import Tuner" cover models don't know anything about JDM. But that really shouldn't surprise you in any way whatsoever. :p |
