Great Video Game Moments

What were some of your favorite video game moments? Was it when you broke 1M playing Astrosmash on Intellivision? Beating Dragon's Lair with only one roll of quarters!

A more recent moment and one that many of you probably share happens in Halo 3. Remember when Master Chief finally locates and rescues Cortana? Very epic cutscene for Halo fans everywhere.

What are some of your favorite gaming moments?

Playing Resident Evil 2 for the first time. Walking down that narrow hallway with the two boarded windows. Then, jumping right out my seat when those hands came crashing through.

The sex scene in Mass Effect.

-sub hour super metroid
-low % victory on metroid zero mission
-no bottles no saves link to the past (try it)
-3 heart ocarina of time (wasn't too hard, but this was before the internet was big and no one thought i could do it.)
-moldavite earring at 47 rdm. traded a thf60 named Exhile my morion earring to help me. at the time they were 120k.
-starcraft2 brutal campaign completion (that was f'ing hard)

my first experience with RE was a bad one. i played it for about 10 minutes on my nephews PS1. i didn't 'get it' at all. i thought the graphics were poor and the controls worse, so i just wrote it off. when i got a PS2 and played Code Veronica though, it clicked.

Memorable moment... how i beat nemesis. i just kept running away from him. and my friend adam said i bet we can glitch him. so we just kept running and trying to get him to get stuck or something. luckily he did get caught on a lamp post or some ***, and we just unloaded on him. took almost every bullet we had iirc.

Lmao, Well I had a Friend long ago 30 SMN was his highest at the time, 05-6ish That i was doing Titan Prime for, We all get to the Zone and he goes "***.... forgot Fork." I'm like "ok go get and We can wait np" I'm always up for helping the new players ^^! Anyways so he's in Port B. getting fork and the other person that was with us goes "Hey lets Cast invis and snk and "Fight Titan" Lol, So right after that before i couldn't even say anything as to his prank getting pulled off he goes... "Titan Prime [Found it!] [Fighting right now!] (we were still at the Crystal) >_>; lol. Wish i had SS Still :/

So anyways, my other Friend that that this prank was funny (And it was XD) continues "Dude hes about to 2hr soon!! ><" Then i started to play along :O so he Warps using the NPC to the Crystal and we see run right up to it and enter..... we never went inside... lol we both were still invis till we saw him Dissapear... then we were like "omfgwtfrofl"

Im not the best Story teller but i thought it was funny ^^; Kinda that "You have to be there" moments ;p

By far my favourite moment in gaming and imo one of the greatest moments is the revelation in KOTOR. I won't explain it because I'd hate to ruin it for anyone who has yet to play, but Malak made me feel stupid that's for sure! Absolute brilliance.

Followed by the revelation in Bioshock. Speaking of Bioshock, the moment when the splicers start swinging down the gallery staircase to the sound of the nutcracker. Genius.

I also really liked the Jak and Daxter series 8(

-Getting my first epic in WoW (back when they meant something).
-Reaching level 75 on DRK.
-Defeating Chaos in FF1, I didn't know anyone else who had done it at that point.
-Collecting over 100,000 food in Age of Empires 2 (I'm a food *** in that game lol).
-Anytime I beat Tadakatsu Honda in Samurai Warriors 3. Seriously, he's a ***.

Super Smash Bros Brawl (happens quite often)

-Friend will try to spike me which is pretty difficult since all I look for is someone trying to spike me when I'm off the edge. I'll float back (usually I'm Peach), footstool them, and get back up while they fall to their death.


Persona 3 Portable

-Just barely beating this difficult floor boss with everyone dead except MC, lol.
-Encountering the Reaper on my FIRST floor ever having no idea what it is. I felt ballsy and approached it. Learned my lesson fast.


Valkyria Chronicles

-Running passed 2 tanks, 3 shocktroppers and 2 scouts just to shoot a bomb on a train to win the mission. Alicia, you so crazy.

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle

Beating the final boss with no rings by charging through a wave of energy death balls like an idiot. Deal with it, Mr. Boss.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy

Had an epic fight with my friend. I was Jecht and was about to lose, but I pulled off his entire mid-air combo linking an HP attack (which is EXTREMELY difficult with any kind of lag), quickly went into EX mode RIGHT before my last HP attack hit, went into EX Burst in lightning speed, and just barely did enough to break my friend to win the match. He was like "What the *** just happened." xD


I'll try to remember some more later.

Don't get me started on how many times I had to raise your *** during Besieged xD

I just actually had a brand new one. The most epic Necron fight EVER

Anyway, if we are talking about personal moments of achievement, then I think mine would have to be CATCHING THE MOTHERFUCKING HYLIAN LOACH.

Well... Steiners attacks already do 9999 without any of that stuff lol >_>

Oh I got one that plenty of people can relate to...

Finally completing and getting the *** out of the Water Temple in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I *** hate that place. I actually don't mind any of the other temples, some I even enjoy (Fire and Forest for example) but goddamn that Water Temple.

Pokemon stadium
>Going for surfing pikachu.
>Manage to get to last round after plenty of failures
>Final fight, last pokemon to kill is a Rhydon
>Only have my Pikachu left (***)
>Pikachu is almost dead after a few attack rounds, last move I can try to kill it with is body slam

Nah only 5kish with ultima sword, I did it a low level for a challenge.

Thrown knives/axes and noob tubes for kill cam on CoD.
Way to many to recall with Haseyo ET and Thunderz but we had some crazy fun times on CoD.

In the old days I'd say it was beating FF7 and Zelda when I was 8-9.

Necro, but I can see this thread going further.

I don't know if any of you ever played the Metal Gear Solid series, but the closest time I came to crying in a game (even more so than FFVII) was when you return to Shadow Moses Island in MGS4. Then the music plays, and the Codec conversation flashbacks, and the BWAAAAH

FFVI: the opera house scene, and that part right before the final boss. That was a fantastic game.

Silent Hill 2, when you are hiding in the closet and Pyramid Head is right outside. Oh god.

Beating Ghosts 'n Goblins. Like, LEGIT BEATING THAT GAME, BOTH TIMES.

Sonic Adventure, first level, that part with the giant whale. THAT WAS SO COOL

Haha yeah no ***. Coming over that hill in the snow from where the gekko are patrolling and the music coming on and seeing Shadow Moses base again. Guess it would only really mean something to you if you played the first one though. (which i suggest anyone does, seriously, go buy a ps1 just for it).

Edit: I don't see how that was the bit that almost made you cry though, not sure if you hit the end or what and watched after the credits but ***, he went through hell towards the end of the game.

I had to zombie 3 of Lance's Dragonite in HeartGold down to Struggle because I was so underleveled.

I took that W with so much victory.

I finished the last boss in Skyward Sword with 3 hearts left (not a 3 heart run or anything, just got my *** handed to) and no shield (broke during the fight).

Countless millisecond wins in Mario Kart 7, one being an entire lap behind (took over gf's 3DS, she's not the best MK7 player). The rest of the people in the room were like "Damnit Rashid!" Mwahahahahha.

Kingdom hearts, when you get to the 2nd Riku fight. very epic moments leading up... then fight him a good 200+ times, and finally win... brilliant
