Just so you know, as long as you're posting on public forums SE can and will find it, and shut you down. Could be sneaking in some keylogging software or something. Doesn't make sense to share your own bandwidth and risk getting in trouble with SE for the sake of strangers. If you offered this to close friends and linkshell, it'd be understandable, but this stinks of hax.

I think it's more of he doesn't realize how much potential trouble he can get in since WoW has a decent bit of private servers to my knowledge, and I'm pretty sure Blizzard doesn't give a *** and hasn't shut any down (if I'm wrong please say so, curious). SE on the other-hand... isn't that nice. Probably because they're not rolling in metric ***-tons of cash like Blizzard is. They haven't. My brother and cousin used to play this one private server all the time before Cataclysm was released.
Actually, one grand case comes to mind: WoWscape. Most private servers are supported from donations from the playerbase, but if a server is making a lot of money from Blizzard's code, Blizzard gets involved.
WoWscape Lawsuit Summary Quote: FINAL JUDGMENT by Judge Stephen V. Wilson,Pursuant to the Courts July 22, 2010 and August 10, 2010 Orders Granting Plaintiffs Motion for Default Judgment, it is hereby ORDERED, ADJUDGED, AND DECREED that Plaintiff Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. shall recover $88,594,539.00, and post-judgment interest thereon at the rate provided by law until paid in full, from Defendant Alyson Reeves, d/b/aScapegaming. 24 . ( MD JS-6. Case Terminated ) (pj) (Entered: 08/11/2010) So yeah... xD Edit: Shortly before the lawsuit, someone hacked an administrative account which had access to the financial (donation) records for WoWscape. Truth About WoWscape As they said, it was only a matter of time. Offline

Do people still need to pay SE the same monthly charges to be able to play on your private server? If not, then you are taking money out of their pocket.. I have no problems with that, I'm a huge pirate, but they will have a problem with it.

You have to think about the costs of all the people running the huge amount of servers that are used in the game. Each realm isn't run off just one or two server, but around five or six iirc. Plus cost of ads, development, etc. Yes they make a lot of money, but not "metric ***-tons" compared to other companies. No.. don't talk My mistake. I forgot WoW is the devil. I'll just delete my post for you.

No I don't like WoW much, and I haven't even played their other games. To say that company isn't swimming in money atm is pretty silly. It's an accurate statement because they are doing very well financially. Especially with the WoW empire. Tons of products, outside of the official game, centralized around it... How do you think!
