If you don't know what net neutrality is, it's best you learn now. As it is becoming a greater issue and potential threat during these times.
the internet is for porn, how could you block it?
Time to save all those clips before they're gone for good!
My imagination is the greatest porn website conceivable.

Was that court federal or civil?
Cause we can still bring up countless civil class action lawsuits against them if they try and pull anything HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE on their users. Or even better: boycott and use their competition. its all about that $$$

Yeah =/ Sadly depending on where you live, you're screwed with monopolization of bandwidth services. But hell, I'd go back to dial up if it meant *** over a company that would try and control what you're able to do and see online. Valefor.Slipispsycho

As I've said before when this issue arose, I really don't see censorship of the internet happening, at least not in the USA. Yes it can happen, but that doesn't mean it will. The internet as we know it (the free sharing of information) has become a landslide, and just like it's geological counterpart, it's all but impossible to stop it once it gets going.
Is this a serious issue? Yes. Should we just ignore it or brush it off as impossible? Definitely not. Is it likely to happen? I personally don't believe so. We saw where the greed of corporations got us so far.
Who knows what'll happen when that greed starts spreading to the internet service providers like a venereal disease. But for now, the best thing we can do is stay informed and use the power of choice to our advantage. Artemicion said: Bahamut.Jetackuu said: Artemicion said: Was that court federal or civil? On the subject of Dial up + Porn.. As far as I'm concerned all the data and power lines should be public property, and companies would have to pay the public to run services on those lines, with the unlimited bandwidth potential of fiber, it's possible. That would reduce service monopolies, on data and power. (hopefully) at the same time they should really improve our roads overall and power infastructure, they could do it now, use the unemployeed people, use the funds that were being used on unemployment. Hell the government would get money back after taxing their incomes...
