I was wonder if cognition belt can beat over witch sash in BLM purposes
i mean 2 more INT VS 2 MACC + Magic critical hit rate 2%, any ideas?
plus if we talk about playing outside from abyssea areas, since atmas play a mayor role with blm if you have the right atmas.

For epeen, cogntion. For usefullness ? none seriously. 2 int or 2 crit in never going to speed up any fight. I'll let you guess which belt is the best DoT. In abyssea MP is infinite, so .. it's easy to guess.

Epeen? That belt goes on the AH for less than 20k. Lulz.

Epeen, as in only good on screenshots.

The price is proof that none of those belts are usefull as explained. If you want to maximise damage overtime, once MP is unlimited, it's better to nuke in haste belts.

MP is'nt _THAT_ unlimited.
When you spam nukes that cost 300mp, even your temps will run out pretty fast :P
Unless you'r in a exp group getting all the temps back all the time ofc :P

Really though you are only getting 0-1 more macc on witch sash depending on dint.

Epeening would actually be witch sash as when it procs the 10 mab (+ maybe some more if you got +magic crit dmg) would be alot more than 2 int.

But only happening 2% of the time means you are averaging more like .2mab... which means overall cog will do alot more

If you consistently casted the moment the spell was up he'd be right about Swift Belt.

Key word is "if", of course.

Reason the int belt is even cheap now is people are spamming those nms to make abyssea weapons, nothing to do with how good it is, lol.

Not all jobs either.

If mobs had enough HP for 2 int to save one spell, maybe those belts would actually be usefull.

this. even with 20 mp/tick, I eventually drop down to 100ish mp after a barrage of Aero IVs/Fire IVs/Blizzard III & IV.

Of course at that point you are also probably running for dear life... or dead

See the problem with this logic?

So now that we've established that haste belt is pointless for blm since no mob lives long enough, how about we go back to the original question of which is the overall best belt?

Personally, I'd go for cognition (but I still use penitents <_<) as it's going to give you consistantly higher damage (*** all difference though), rather than the occasional damage boost. Also if you use the old estimate of 2 INT = 1 MAB, cognition still wins out. Witch sash has a 2% chance of giving you 10 MAB, which averages out to .2 MAB per nuke. There's the other issue too, where if you work out you can kill a mob with a Blizz V and a Fire V, then the occasional damage boost will be wasted, because you're still going to be casting those two spells. Then again, that's probably something that applies more to soloing flans at 75.

I've looked into blm a fair bit over the years, but only just leveled it a few weeks ago, so my opinion comes more from old readings than real experience. Just keep that in mind ;)

For BLM you should get the 3MAB belt. In abyssea on BLM I have around 220-230 int in my nuke set, so 2 int or 2 macc doesn't have a whole lot of pull anymore. With how much int we have now MAB will pull more then int. Go for the MAB belt.

I think you forgot how much MAB we pull too... not all that hard to nuke in a good +150 mab now. Hell once I get ultimate I'll probably be nuking in like +173 total... unless I really wanna epeen and use the werewolf one instead of minkin

No it augments conserve mp... meaning when it procs it will boost your dmg proportional to % saved. Also the head and feet are on par with what you posted anyways.

And I'd have to do the math to see if cognition is better than searing belt. Which would kinda depend on nuke and atmas alot.
