They were written out for being terrible generic antagonists.

Still would've been cool if the players had to side with them in Abyssea against a common foe, I love that kind of stuff.

They're still beastmen, even if they're on their own side (ihateyouall.jpg).

Wouldn't be surprised if they got wiped out in whatever catastrophe occurred but really, this is a thread with no answer unless I'm forgetting some bit of quest lore.

Abyssea is just a poorly conceived alternate universe. Minor events are different (Curilla loses her eye to a Gnole there rather than losing it in a duel for example) yet things like Crags being non-existent (and thus the Zilart and all those *** are out of the picture) have no discernible influence.

Without the Zilart, you get no Crystal War. With no Crystal War to unite the three armies, the beastmen were probably snuffed out earlier by their respective enemies.

I hope I'm wrong because that is stupid.

Technically without the Zilart you don't have the 5 races either since the meltdown would have never occured.

The war could have still happened but the apocalypse may have simply destroyed all the crags. Since the Empyreal Paradox is presumably connected, and that's connected to the fifth mothercrystal (and by extension Delkfutt and the crags) it kinda makes sense...
