I need to browse through Ebay and find myself a copy of Salival. Extremely rare and hard to find, it was one of those handfuls of live and rare works to hold us off back in 2000 until Lateralus was released ; ;

Hush was my first, saw it on The Box (like a pay per view music channel from waaaaaay back) in like '93. Good times ^^ Artemicion said: I need to browse through Ebay and find myself a copy of Salival. Tool vids in 5.1 surround is AWESOME ^^ Shiva.Artemicion
For me, it all started with this. And I've been in love ever since <3

It was their "before we got famous" CD and it was extremely pwn, it had the original Mud-shovel and i love it more then the one they "re-released" its hard as crap to find their first CD from what i can tell though :< Erikthecleric said: oh, another favorite band Staind, anybody heard their first CD Dysfunction? This is fun to crank on your car stereo as you drive around with the windows down. Although it'd be kind of silly to play this, me being a west coaster and all lol.

I was raised an east coaster. <3 Artemicion said: This is fun to crank on your car stereo as you drive around with the windows down. Radiohead The Cure The Strokes HeavyHeavyLowLow i grew up with videogame music, megaman games had killer music, ff4 has an awesome soundtrack, ff6 sound made me feel like crying more than a few times. and then someday i decided to give "real" music a chance, around when i was 15-16 i think
i like some songs from different caucasian bands, but the only hardrock/metal band ever that ever drove me insane to the point of listening to their every songs thousands of times each literally, that I can consider myself a fan of is X JAPAN. flawless composition, unique sound, ahead of its time and still unequaled as far as I know, there are no other bands in the world that make music like the song DAHLIA, there are so much details and technicality, but unlike other technical kind of bands, the music remains beautiful and full of life... perhaps I should mention that I'm not asian, so I do not consider myself biased about saying a japanese metal band is THE best band :) it's also the only metal band i know with a drummer as leader and main composer, he is one of the best drummers alive, and his compositions are memorable before saying that their song sounds like Helloween, Guns n Roses, Iron Maiden, it's strongly adviced to look at the release dates :) and well, I still don't know any other band that i consider myself a fan of, although i've been searching, and very open to (good) suggestions 2: i like some coldplay songs like Yellow 3: i like the song Creep from Radiohead 4: i like the song Power from Helloween, we need more music like this 5: i have no idea really, we need better music, we should criticize artists more Not sure what you mean by we need more music like Helloween because Helloween is speed/power metal and there is a lot of those around.
I will agree with you that Yoshiki, is an amazing man, though. Psyence said: i grew up with videogame music If you like that kinda stuff I highly recommend The Minibosses and Stemage. The Minibosses do covers of pretty much everything NES, but their medleys of Megaman 2 and Castlevania songs are AWESOME. Stemage does Metroid covers, as well as originals, but their stuff is very very well done, top notch studio quality imho...here's their cover of the Metroid theme song.
