I used to speak with my LS 1 year ago on teamspeak, and it was free. Now i tried to re-install teamspeak 3 and found that i can't create new channels. So if i understood correctly, now u have to BUY a server to host all the channels you want. Is this correct? Same for Ventrilo?
If yes, good FREE alternatives?

I still use Teamspeak2 with a few of my friends, hosted on my own server and it was always free for me (I'm pretty sure it still is for non-profit use).
I'm sure there's likely to be free TeamSpeak/Vent hosting available still.

My LS uses Skype... its a little different, and takes a min. to get used to, however it has its perks you dont have to click anything to talk, and if you dont want to listen/have others here you, you can mute your "call"

Skype is better anyhow. Better quality and easier to filter out certain people.

I use Skype for personal and IRL stuff, but i wanted a less invasive and lighter program and something that doesn't require a registration or a login (i know it takes a minute, but if possibile i'd like to keep it as my last choice).

skype makes my *** hurt (when compared to ventrilo), but it's free, and that's what counts
I hate skype compared to vent/teamspeak.

mumble sounded shitty compared to vent, but it was free

I use Mumble for TF2 and it was ok.
