So uh, anyone extremely bored and want to make a mod?
I doubt it, but I figure I'd try!

So, I'm disappointed in the Hume Male Dancer AF3 head. It hides behind my hair, just like AF1 and AF2, and looks like a stupid black monk headband, but female models get that awesome gaudy flower with feathers!

Like so:


Could anyone make a Hume male version of that head? I want to be a pretty princess, not wear a stupid black headband.

I don't know where the respective DATs are located, but I figure if you're capable of making such a mod, you're probably going to be able to find that information much faster than I can!

Shouldn't be too hard if the feathers and whatnot don't actually move and remain stationary.


If/When I stop working overtime, and if nobody else has done this before then, I can probably do it. If not, try PMing Everdyne or Mytoy if they still browse these forums.

Neko-sentai is the primary place to check. However, if you're not a member and don't join the no-ads group, you're stuck seeing unfavorable ads on every page. An alternative would be the new FFXIDats. Although much smaller in comparison to the original site, this new one has a lot of long lost DATs as well as new ones.

I'm pretty sure they remain stationary, so it would probably be some sort of cut and paste-ish job, but I'm still clueless when it comes to dat-modding myself XD

Yeah, I checked Neko-Sentai unfortunately most of the mods there are for giving female models gigantic breasts and the new FFXIDATS is pretty barren at the moment.

That's a wee bit out of my skill set there. The best I could do is take the current Wyvern and stretch it around so he has that big flat grin.


That and I really suck with texturing.

Porting a dat from a female to a male would require the use of VRS and afaik their has been no update for the lists in VRS in ages. It doesn't even allow you to load in the AF dancer gear. Your best option would be to re-purpose another existing male head piece and have it recolored.

But it doesn't need to natively load the gear. You can swap out the AF3 head with a Leather Headband or something already on the list and it'll load just fine.

You should give it a try yourself. It's never to late to learn. Go somewhere with guides and a community (I suggest the new ffxidats, but I'm biased as a Mod :P). Read the guides, get the programs and mess around till you find something you like. The unfortunate thing about having others make your DATs is theyre never EXACTLY as you would of liked.

I've been looking for the DNCAF3 head for hume males in model viewer for a while, but I can't find it.

Uh.. I suppose. Tomorrow.

EDIT: Actually, the taru one should just be a simple DAT swap since the genders are the same physically. I'll have to use the elvaan female piece for galkas and elvaan males to have the right flower size to head size ratio.

please upload this dat to ffxidats.caarrie.org I bet many people that browse that site would love this dat, and by putting it there you will make sure it is not lost to a free host.
