Is your OS fully updated? framework and everything? Don't tell me this, I haven't gotten home to try on my 64bit windows 7 ;_;
Make sure you're running as administrator. everything should be fine... i had no trouble running the beta either

I have 4 displays on my home computer and it was tring to send it to a display on older video card. Also if you are using a PS3 controller using motionjoy as the driver ffxiv will not work in windows 7 test mode. actually im in test mode, and ive been meaning to turn it off... tho i can't remember how XD
got test mode turned off, still no go
I just installed onto my 64bit - 7 desktop and so far it seems to be working allright. When do you get the error?

When do you get the error? when i push the play button, before the actual game luanches. and yes retail NA disc Oh I see. I wouldn't be there yet. My download speed on the update is being awfully jumpy, though. That disappoints me.

Would you mind posting your specs? first of all, heres the actual error. second, which specs? what im running the game at, or my computer specs? Though with that error I'm kind of at a loss until I can try to replicate it. AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.2
8GB memory 5770 sapphire 1GB graphics card. i'd rather not spam the sight with my dxdiag, unless i can find a way to post it somehwere else, so i don't rape this page Valefor.Slipispsycho

I'd look in the disks and manually check for a 64-bit installation.
Bout the best I can come up with currently. Nice computer. That's all I wanted to know. I'll step back until I'm actually able to sign in.
ill check the instructions..only thing i can think of, is the patch i downloaded? tho i dunno why hat would affect anything... bah, i got up at 10am to buy this too D:
i just saw the back of the box, says... 64bit OS will run in WOW64 (windows on Windows64) mode... i have no idea what the hell that is, but it might be why it's not running

WOW64 is provided with the operating system and does not have to be explicitly enabled It should do it by default, but maybe there's a glitch somewhere. I'm researching WoW64 right now. Change the security on
c:\program files(x86)\Squareenix to everyone full control. If it's patch issue. run as admin sometime is stupid. I personally install all games under c:\user\public\ So the updaters don't *** with permissions.
