hi
i really love having my apradar up when i play and i imagine a lot of other people do too
sean's map pack, however, hasn't been updated to reflect the new maps, so for people like me, we were out of luck as far as having working apradar
however, darkshade, in addition to making map dats for those zones that he shared, also gave instructions on how to update your map.ini to make the new zones work with ffxiassist/apradar/mappy
it's a really useful guide and i want to put more eyes on it
so, here it is, directions for manually updating your mappy/apradar to include the new zones

as of now it's the last post on the page
that of course may change

Yeah I saw this the other day I think on BG actually. Thanks!
Do you know how to add and fix stuff in the map.ini file? There are random places I go and the map doesn't work (Pso'xja is notorious for this). I'd like to be able to fix the map in these random spots.

afraid not, i have the same problem, actually >< though i think that's because apradar can only handle 10 maps for a zone?
if that's the case, which i think it is, i bet it would work fine with mappy, though i haven't tested it out.
as far as updating the ini, though, all i can do is follow instructions word-for-word and pray i don't screw it up ><

you go to darkshade's post
open your map.ini file in your maps directory, change the sections of text he mentioned to the ones he provided, save his map .gif's
name them d7_0, d8_0, and d9_0 and save them over the existing d7_0, d8_0, and d9_0, which are mog house maps

lol I read that post on windower, and it makes no sense what so ever to me.
"Update blah blah to blah blah" but where? I've looked in the map directory for mappy and I dont see anything that even looks remotely to be named like:
Darkshade said: ;d7 ƒWƒ…ƒm‹Z‹æ
d7_jname=ƒWƒ…ƒm‹Z‹æ
d7_ename=Abyssea - Attohwa
d7_0=0.1,133,-0.1,136,-10000,-10000,-10000,10000,10000,10000

you click on the map.ini text file itself
then use ctrl-f to do a serch for matching text

you have your extensions hidden
i suggest you delete(or move it into a different directory for now) your current map pack and redownload the one on that thread, which i believe only has one txt file named map, and modifying that file

whatever directory your mappy is in, there is most likely a subdirectory called "Maps"
that's where you should unzip the new map pack
the abessea maps are in the main directory
they are currently maps of your mog house, and you have to save over them with the .gif's on that thread

make sure you saved over all three of the files and that you named your Abyssea - Attohwa map d7_0.gif, your Abyssea - Misareaux map d8_0.gif, and your Abyssea - Vunkerl map d9_0.gif

I think I got it now. I deleted the moghouse maps d_07 d_08 d_09 and renamed the new aby maps to what the MH maps where named.
