SAM 5 Hit Setups

Hey all just got Rajas other day and thoughts begin of 5 hit setups. Bear in mind SAM needs 29 from gear with Keitanotachi as GK. Please omit Usukane or other gear which requires 6 billion gil and submit some "attainable" setups. FYI also not looking for raw stp, but a useable 5 hit to convince me to drop 6 hit 21% haste.

Use Hachiman hands(+1) if you don't have Usu feet, and Domaru if you don't have Askar.

Hachiman Kote +8
Keitonotachi +5
Askar Body +5
Rajas Ring +5
Rose Strap +4
Brutal Earring +1
Chivalrous Chain +1
=29STP.

Probably the most basic and cost effective way of doing it.

Any way to do this without rose strap? :P

Well it's possible but without dropping even more haste you'd have to use Domaru, White Tathlum, and Echporia ring or the STP earring.

End up looking a bit messy ><

Edit: Keep forgetting that Unkai Necklace, that would make things a lot easier.

goading belt, Tactical Mantle, Hoard Ring or Belenos Mantle+White Tathlum. This is all i can think of. Though hoard ring and tactical might not be worth it idk.

When I get usu feet 35 dorp I might do a 21% haste 5hit with fulltime hachi hands I guess, best I can do I think xD

Could use carbonara if you're still relatively high on accuracy.

I guess, can use 6hit when I need pizza etc aswell I suppose.
Until the 35s drop I'm stuck with a 6hit anyways, so I'll just keep looking up possible ways of doing this lol

Well honestly even with swapping haste gear out for 5hit you're still pulling ahead of a haste/6hit set with the exception of recieving high haste buffs. But the set I posted above would give you 5hit if you use Domaru(+1)/Ecphoria over rose strap. Rose does make it so much easier though :x!

Sword strap isn't haste, its delay- which takes down your tp per hit.

yeah im assuming he wanted the traditional gk delay back so it would be an actual 5 hit vs other gks where keito is a bit slower than other gks.

No he asked if there was an option for 5hit that is on par with a 25% 6hit with Sword strap, effectively 26~% haste build. The answer is yes, any 5hit build with more than ~4? haste.

Ah, so he is looking for max haste and a 5 hit with, Kaitenotachi 462 + Sword strap -3% delay = 449 delay?

So like I don't know if this has been said but I tested it
Keitonotachi + Eisen grip = 5hit with no STP gear or food

Keitono/Eisen is by far less efficient than a regular 5hit.

You'd be doing into the realms of 4hit with those 2 pieces potentially.

If I cant use a 5hit with this gkt, I'll just use a 6hit with sword strap.

Well here is a possibility I came up with but it is not ideal but it's just gear I have laying around.

Also keep in mind you miss 6% haste from hands and feet, but I suppose that with the missing haste your still better off with a 5 hit and not the 6% haste.

These are actually a little overboard and you can ditch the whiteboxes on the hachi hands and feet and still get the 5 hit.

At high levels of Haste a 5hit would actually fall behind a 6hit with an additional 6Haste or higher.

Yeah, specially if the 6hit can wear sword strap without breaking the 6hit build, giving it even more of a difference in delay Versus a 5hit with higher delay and lower haste etc.

I parsed this build in Abyssea on Mandys last night and even though my accuracy is a bit low (~92%) it parses basically equal to my Hagun build which has capped accuracy (~95%) on Abyssea mobs. When I started using sole sushi lead was given to my 5 hit build by about 2.5% damage difference.

I'm working on my rose strap now. (Just got my gold star!) Once I have it, I'm pretty sure preference will be given to my 5 hit build. I will have to make up 1 more StoreTP so I'm thinking of getting HQ hachimans kote or trying for the Unkai Nodowa but I'm going to wait and see what next update brings before I start spending time farming for those.

So you can compare with my 6 hit Hagun build:

Something that is not compared in my parse is that with a 5 hit build, I can solo skill chain with nothing more than Meditate. If I'm really lucky, I can even solo light.

With basic gear you can get near a 4hit
You can 3hit with 42STP from gear
Which me and a friend came up with:
Goading Belt (5), Rajas ring (5), Usu body (6), Hachiman kote +1 (9), Usu feet (7), Brutal earring (1), White tathlum (2), Unkai Nodawa (3), Carbonara (5) or if u want to sub ur food for equip Hoard ring (4)

You can't get a 4hit build with "basic gear" ... a 5hit isn't even that easy for some people. Although 5hit has become easier now with Keitonotachi, but still need other specific gear like rose strap etc. to make a more decent build. And if you're sacrificing too much haste to make a 5hit build with what you have available, then it won't even be worth it at high haste situations versus a 6hit build with sword strap and more haste.

Also, you can't make a 3hit build with Keitonotachi and 42STP from gear.

With a 474 Delay weapon and Eisen grip it takes 33STP to get a 4hit. With just a 474 weapon, +42 STP doesn't come close to 4hit, you would need +62 (excluding merits).

Nuin might be talking about some sort of Nanatsusaya Zanshin build...
