Am I Missing Something Here (Abbysea Stones)?

Okay, I was under the impression, that the most you could possibly 'stock up' on (without upgrading how many you can hold and what not) is like 9 stones worth the time, get 3, go check those in, go back and get 3 more, then wait for 3 more to be ready for you from the guy who gives them to you.

But, 2 days ago, me and a friend did a 6 stone Abbysea PT, then the next day (yesterday) he did yet another, now he has stones again.

So am I missing something here? Do the stones just keep building up with the guy indefinately, like if you wait 400 hours you'll have a total of 20 stones you can draw from constantly? Or is the guy just glitching?

You can hold 3 stones, but the npc can store more than 1 for every 20 hours. Whats the limit on the npc holding them, I don't know.

NPC store stones indefinitely , there is no known cap on how much can he stores .

The limit the NPC holds has to be 10 to 20+ from what I can guess

I Had 3 stones in my key items on Friday.
All weekend I spent doing some NMs in there, exiting out and getting more stones.

I must have went back for 3 stones about 5 times.
And the NPC still has YET to run out.

There is limit at all to how many stones he can to my knowledge.

Cant be.
I had 120 mins and 3 stones in my Key Items on Friday.
Went back and got 3 Stones Friday Night.
Saturday... went back and got 3 stones 2 different times.
Sunday... same thing.
Thats a total of 15 stones he gave me in 72 hours.

I don't get to do Abyssea during the week with work and our LS's event schedule... so that NPC just keeps storing them up.

Perhaps this weekend, I'll take some SS's of my time stamp if I'm getting a lot of stones again...just for some solid proof.

But honestly... was going in and out of Abyssea like mad all weekend doing NMs and that NPC was like "WHAT more STONES" and hit me with a sack of them

A few days back I burned through 6 stones in a row. I grabbed another 3 last night. I'd almost be willing to bet he has a counter that stores them indefinitely for however many days you have not grabbed a new one.

That or the cap is at least 10, if there is one.

You can also lower the time it takes to get a stone by getting a key item from a Tonberry in Abyssea Konschtat Highlands. Key item lowers time from 20 hours to 16 hours IIRC.

Maybe a good question is, barring having three stones on you already, has he ever denied anyone? Not me, and haven't heard of anyone.

Yes, when it first came out... He did Deny once after I went back for more stones during the same day in the middle of an alliance party.

Since then... nope

He won't give me stones all the time. Too many bad/dying parties replacing too many people or disbanding when clusters of people leave at a time and I'm already 90 minutes down on a run. :(

I have the key item to hold 4 stones at once and Ive had over 14 off him in about 36 hours just fyi~

There was an update not long after abyssea came out that change it from him only holding 3 stones, to him holding an indefinite amount of stones.

The npc can hold quite a few, it's just that some people burn them as they get them, while others won't use them for 2 weeks and then end up with 20 stones ready for use.
