So I was wondering if there was a way to find the cap in the weaponskill mod. Lets take Raging rush for example, 35% str mod. How much str would it take before it becomes no longer relevant?

I know for something like RR dex might affect crits. and the extra acc would be good too but does adding any att help the dmg?

There is no cap. Even if there was, it would be something like 700 STR or something to hit 9999 cap.

Attack helps weaponskill damage in exactly the same way as melee damage, with the exception of weaponskills like Tachi: Gekko. Weaponskill mods never cap.

So no cap eh. I thought there would have been a number after which the gains of adding more would drop. either way thanks for letting me know~ ^^

I suppose I shall just have to mess around and find a good mix of str/dex/att/acc/etc I usually just stack the ws mod but I feel I could get more out of my ws's

Is this Raging Rush specific? It would help a bit to know.

This is the Raging Rush set I use currently(Aggressor Up build), nothing special, as most of the gear is obtainable with little effort(gogo perle -.-)

As for the WS itself, Stack acc until cap (this set has lower acc than my agg down build), then Stack STR, and DEX if in dDEX range.

Depending on the piece, attack over STR may be more beneficial to your build

Improvements would be:
Snow gorget (or other properly aligned gorget)
6 str ring, or situationally a 5-6 dex ring
Hecatomb hands/feet/head
Fire bomblet (if acc is uncapped)
Cuchulain's mantle (again, situational)
Ebody (lol)

Acc cap differs from mob to mob, and level correction is also a factor.

The new version's FFXICalc Should help you with gearing for Accuracy.

dDEX is a bit more complicated, as it is a funtion based on the difference of your DEX vs targets AGI

50 points of DEX above your targets AGI is required to cap dDEX (crit rate)

Each point of dex inside the dDEX range (35-50 above agi, as the minimum crit rate is 5% and max is 20%) increases your crit rate by 1%

I hope I'm making sense ^^;

Edit: Individual mob's agility is widely unknown. 1 known is greater colibri, having 67 agi.
This means you need 117 DEX to cap crit rate on that specific mob.

oh spiffy getting the ffxicalc now.

and yeah you are making sense. So we know that the g. colibri have 67 agi, but do we know if this is higher or lower compared to other mobs?

Colibri are RDM/RDM mobs so they're not exactly the most agile of monsters, yah.

I've noticed quite a few people that think the mods cap.
Like, with a 35% mod they belive it caps when you have +35% of your base str, then the secondary mod starts working <_>

Who's misinforming my server?!

I like to see advice threads not get flamed to hell and back, so I figure I'd input what little I do know..

Anyways, I was wondering myself if the AGI has been figured for the common exp mobs in abyssea? (pachypodium and the like)
Greatly appreciated if anyone knows.
