Can Not Get Pol To Launch

new pc unable to get Pol to launch. my pc uses window 7.
i did the download off play online but when i go to install FF XI it comes up with message saying there is no playonline viewer on this computer :( the copy of game i use the 2007 collection =( can anyone help?

I've seen this happen before... was a long time ago though. Same 2007 edition too... have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

several times, all i get is a black box then the message that program has failed to launch then it closes

that has happen to me once as well. Cant remember what I did, but I think I went to the folder where its installed in and right click and run as administrator or something.

Or maybe I just installed it again from another disc. I have like 5-6 full copies of FFXI laying around from different times when I've lost my disc and found it years later lol.

i've tryed that and still nothing :( i've ran out of idea's bar tossing new pc out of window, guess i'll stick to playing on old pc as i have no idea how to solove this issue unless i try downloading the game

install the POL you need then BROWSE the cd/dvd and find the ffxi install and start it, then go back to the cd/dvd and install the expansions you want. dont use the normal installer that should auto start when you put the cd/dvd in your pc.

Oh and I dont actually think I ever downloaded the vista thingy when I switched to windows 7. I'm 99% sure I didnt and that it worked anyway.
