Pets Affecting Lights In Abyssea?

Lately my LS has been trying (and failing) to do Abyssea (usually Tahrongi). We have trouble getting Pearl/Ruby lights, and we assumed it was from lack of player co-operation, but last night after I timed out they reported that instead of killing with melee, and not getting lights, they were suddenly getting lights 100% of the time. They suggested it was from my Pet, (Nursery Nazuna) and now I am barred from using pets in Abyssea any more. Is there any possible truth to this?

It's possible if your pet is getting the killshots, but definitely not true just by having it. (Unless Nursery Nazuna is glitched, LuckyLulush or GTFO) I've gone BST to many abyssea runs, and Procurring light was never affected by having the pet engaged, though it did seem a few times when the Pet got the Killshot, no Light was happening.

Sadly pets give no light indeed. But you guys must have some shitty DD's if your pet killshots enough to make them bar you from using them.

Well, I have no idea what could cause it as I have seen NN get lights before, (Pearl from a regular hit, and Ruby from Lamb Chop), but the issue seems to be that even though we killed with melee (no magic or ws, only melee from 15%) the mob gave no lights.

If your fighting mandies your probaly having issues with ruby light seems like those mobs will never give it up.

why not just have pet engaged up until the last 10%or so of mobs health and then disengage it..

I am wondering that if this happens for bst pets, does it happen to summons/auto's/wyv also?

That's what I do; disengage pet at about 15%; the times it gets kills are when it lags or it has hate and Heel doesn't do anything.

Yeah I have seen many bst pet kills in abyss not once a light from it but u get lights from puppets . I took my pup in skill up my blm puppet was doing stone V for 2244 so yeah a lot of kill shots.

i was in abyssea-la theine last night and lucky got a killshot due to me having to avert my gaze from pc for a minute. i screenshotted the pearle light we recieved. i'll try to have that posted later today when i get more time. now i'm really confused about it....

Melée pet kills give pearl light. No questions asked. Surely you guys know this by now. Surely.

yah melee pets and *ALL* smn pacts give pearl light..

might be just cuz im tired but could swear i remember seeing a pup automotan make azure light with spell tho.

Automaton's spells give Azure Light indeed

i heard pearl light was somewhat random?...ive seen my pet get pearl a bunch of times...just not very often

SMN blood pact kills are probably the most consistent thing at getting pearl lights. If not 100%, it's *** close. I've yet to see a blood pact not get pearl. We have SMNs blood pact on murexs when building lights.

For a while right after update (when this thread was written in other words) I don't think bst pets were getting lights, they do now.

I was going to confirm pets can definitely give lights, at least Ruby, cause Lulush Teeth-kicked some mob and Ruby Lighted it.

Then i saw a 93 day Necro Bump and figured we all knew this by now x.x;
