I was thinking of getting a new monitor.

But before I do I was curious.....

What is the max Res you can run FFXI on?

I'm 1280X1050 ATM I think.

Thanks in advance :)

NVM I found a good resource for this:

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Graphics

And it appears that FFXI has no max resolution.

It will run as high as the monitor will allow :)

Hope this helpes someone else.

Whatever the resolution just set the X and Y values in your windower fields. Be sure the match it with your native resolution values.

Anything skewing from that will make your graphics look like crap.

I haven't had a problem with it on either laptop or desktop with a 22in. monitor. I don't really use the desktop to play the game on anymore though. Glad you figured it out.

With an increased background resolution via editing the registry you can make this game look significantly more beautiful and detailed than SE had originally intended it to look with default settings.

But to get the most of it, the draw distance plug in is a must.

Makes a world of difference to see the horizon as you arrive, rather than it suddenly popping up once you're close enough.

Sorry for big pic, and for those who worry: The draw distance applies only to the environment and surroundings. This will not enable you to see characters/mobs from a further distance away than normal.
