wtf happened to the elemental ore prices?
By alexyia 2010-07-13 13:36:06
has SE done something to increase the number of ores per crop or are more people gardening than they used to?
i gave up sapling gardens about 3 years ago when the ore rate per crop rate got nerfed and went with a more steady gilmaking crop....did something chage again?
cuz the elemental ore prices on Lakshmi at least have hit the crapper

Ore has been going down for awhile.
You have been able to get some from fishing for awhile now.
You can augment lvl 72 rings to get better stats. There are 2 sets 6 stat rings now anyways.
And better staffs out

Well. Thanks for ruining my day! Haha, no it's just a game. But I can tell you why. The sole reason elemental ore prices have dropped (on Fenrir, too, it looks like) is because I just started exclusively gardening ores. It seems like every way I try to make money dies an instant death. (Maybe if I hit up brosale, they'd die, too?)
Sooo.... what do you garden? I can ruin that, too, if you'd like.

Reason 1: New, superior Staves through Trial of the Magians.
Reason 2: Blue Racing Silks, effectively double's a diggers daily cap of items, which means more ores during the Ore cycle.

A majority of the above are correct.
Prices were plummeting LONG before Abyssea came out.
Months ago I was harvesting Ice Ore, and it plummeted to 60K at the time.
Its the Trial Staves, now combined with the new expansion.
Even the price of HQ elemental staves dropped severely.

I got a Dark Ore from campaign once. I don't know if that's particularly uncommon, or if you can get other ores, but anything that drops in campaign (except for currently, perhaps) always plummets in price.

Elemental ore also drop from T3 VNM's. Could be a contributing factor.

I was reading a bunch of ***on Listverse last night and in one of them it said that when you correct someone's grammar on the internet, due to Murphy's Law, you have a very high likelihood to make an error yourself.
From what I've seen over the years, it's true (so next time before criticizing someone for an error, make sure you triple check your own spelling/grammar).

It's a pretty damn rare drop.. Out of over 100,000 allied notes, I've seen Ele ore 2 times, I've seen dragon meat once. All those notes came from Campaign Battles and the vast majority from the ones that have the attacking horde that has a chance at dropping it.. So it's pretty rare.

This game is essentially Multi-national. Many of the people who read these forums and play FFXI didn't have the luxury of learning English as their first language, so personally I try to spell everything out, and use proper punctuation as much as possible, especially when posting around people I don't really know.
A lot of people think it's a sign of an elitist ***, I think it's just being courteous to our non-English native friends. And it's no surprise the only people who complain are American.

people who have nothing better to do than peruse chat boards all day looking for other people's mistakes to correct so they might feel better about themselves need to put down the donughts, get their hand out of their pants and get a life.
