Blue Mage Advice

Hello! Long time lurker first time poster, just wanted to ask a few questions that I have regarding BLU.

*I'm a level 58BLU Hume (with all spells up to 58).
*Have /nin, /dnc and /sch sub, working on thf(20).

Gear i'm using:


TP Set


Casting (Needs a lot of work)

*Have Amemet+1 and hume RSE2 Feet ready for when I can equip them

So some of the questions I have:

1)Vermillion Cloak, when is the right time to use it? (Apart from idle) bad to tp in?

2)Should I be setting Auto-refresh at this level? or later on?

3)Regarding the different Bracelets from Gigas NMs, are they worth getting for casting in? (or is the -dex too offputting?)

4)Any notable pieces of gear to get from 60-70? I already have 3/5 pieces (Hat, Hands, Feet) of the level 68 Cobra gear from Windy(s), which looks like it could be good for TPing in

5)I'm currently making the SC Red Lotus Blade>Sickle Slash>Mp Drainkiss, does this change at level 60 with Death Scissors?

Sorry for the sheer amount of questions, was in a bit of a rush when writing this.

P.S Don't really have a weaponskill set yet really, just based it off what my casting set is. any advice on what to build for that too would be appreciated.

First things first, you're missing /thf, which should be your #1 SJ for exp. Set auto-refresh, there's not a lot of spells you really need to actually USE in exp, and more mp = more spells.

TP in vermy is fine if you can still get a good hit-rate... which... you most probably won't. Don't be afraid to wear it every chance you get between mobs though, or even take a knee if the pulls are slow.

The -DEX is an issue for troll bracelets, but if you're using SA they're the best thing you can get, and yes, you should be using SA. I'd suggest having two spell sets, one with significantly more acc than the other for use with TA.

Your SC is perfect, and Death Scissors simply replaces Sickle Slash at 60. If you're fighting mobs with no MP, swap out MP Drainkiss for Digest.

I wish my BLU looked like that when i was lvling it lol =x

Lol around 10 days after the update I went 1/1 on swift belt (with TH3) and a few days before that I won 8-4 of CoP. (Was the last person alive lol) So it has only gotten better recently ; ;

Guess I should be working on PCC really, got so many seals I lost count...

i was going to post the same advice about /thf
but i prefered not to cause i was scared some people react with : "no you have to go /nin ! all the way" lmao

another piece of advices :

you have to work on several casting sets

forget all the "attack bonus" on casting set its useless

try to read this page :

look carefully what is the stat modifier for your spells and create several casting set accordingly


most of the time physical blu spell = STR
sometimes you have DEX to put in even CHR or VIT !

try to focus on a full STR set for when you will CASA + deathscissor @60

if your are using multihit spells : try to add accuracy on your set
