Dey tuk his jerb!!
For years Maat has diligently served the twisted machinations of SE designers by torturing those looking to reach the next level. He served with purpose and sarcastic humor. Who could forget the days of searching for items that most had never heard of? "Oh yea just go get me some stuff from these dungeons, Nancy..." Hours later and sometimes at the cost of a party worth of experience. Burning questions of your own self worth and complete destruction of pride surfacing, you'd return. Hand Maat the items, and he would kick you while you were down with another quip. Then you'd find the old insane man blocking you again 5 levels later.
Finally you'd be ready to take the old man in combat. 66~70 levels of bad ass equipment and knowing your abilities. And what would Maat do?
He'd stand and wait for you... then blitz you with impossible stacking of abilities and spell combo. Enough to make most players let out a soul shredding shriek of frustration and pain. And if you were unlucky enough to lose, he'd laugh and send you to find another bloody item before you could try again. And if you'd win, he'd still be that sarcastic old man but he would have a sliver of respect for you.
Today SE has given the Nomad Moogle the next step in evolving our characters. Taking the role Maat has served with passion and malice few NPCs could exhibit. So when you look into that stuffies' eyes today as you look to break the limits. Remember that old man close by, having to watch this travesty. Having to serve his days out to most of us as another NPC we never speak to. And maybe go say hi and thanks to Maat, for all those long nights. For making you the player you are today.
Because the Moogle workforce is cheaper, cuter and more marketable. But let us not forget Maat. Minimalized but not forgotten. And remember the days before with fondness. The days before you hated Moogles for making you come to them from some crazy dungeon with items you'd never heard of.
Thank you Maat for your years of service!
Oh yea, and Moogles tuk Maat's jawb!
