I'd be careful doing that as you cannot reobtain these pieces again aside from buying them off others. But if they're not that useful to you or only have use for subjobs, give it a go.
Would be nice if SE gave us an option to un-augment items and give it another shot, even if it was something we had to pay for or could only do once a day.
Seeing as you can only augment once a day being able to unaugment only once a day isn't really much of a restriction

Would be an interesting thing to see, would help shave off the costs as well as keep prices a bit lower. I think I paid 50-90k for my Warwolf when I was just planning to use it for tanking =(
