Damage Gimped By Aug?

Hello I recently auged a erlking's G.axe and got Dmg+5 and atk+7 which is nice and all but i read somewhere that during the ws phase the auged dmg is ignored and the only thing that matters is the base dmg. Was hoping to find someone to back this up or disprove this ty for reading this. ^^

Sounds like a load of ***to me, been using my Erlking's and never noticed any nerfed of less than average WS damages for its DMG.

I'd have to agree with Karbuncle. The difference between my Fay Lance (DMG+5, STR+3) vs Radiant Lance (dmg 90, same as base Fay) is noticeable enough that it has to take into account the higher damage.

If this was true it likely would have been plastered all over this site and no one would do the augment quests lol.

I heard there was a bug about it but it was fixed straight away in an emergency maintenance, and it only effected Ranged Weapons.

Ihm is gimped with all weapons.

Refers to weapons with hidden +DMG like Company Sword I believe.

Even company sword's hidden effect is active on WS. My friend has an Axe with similar augments to yours and he's never noticed a loss of damage on WS. He wont use anything else BUT that axe actually.

Yes but those hidden or latent dmgs aren't the ones used in fstr calculations which makes a small difference. I wonder if which one these use

i dont notice a difference
i use my erlkings everywhere but high lv HNM since its dmg97/att+6/da+2

otherwise i like perdu's acc in ws for the higher lv mobs

Magian weapons use the additional damage in weapon rank calculations, not sure about Fay weapons.

The last update broke ranged weapons used in Magian trials (including relics!), but that was fixed... Unless your friend was referring to weapon rank (which I don't even know if that's true as Fay goes), I can't think of anything.
