In-game Help Pls!!

k, I dunno if I can ask for help with an in-game problem here or if this is just for site/forum help, but I need help, so anything anyone can suggest would really be appreciated ;-;

So what happened is, I changed jobs in the mog house in white gate, and when i exited, know how the whole screen stays black until they ask you the question "would you like to set your hp here" and you answer? Well the screen went black, but they never asked the question... and I can't get out of the black screen now >_<

Tried hitting enter, nothing. Esc. nothing. Can't open the menu to even contact a gm (if i even knew how to do that anyway), and I tried logging out, and I just logged back in to a black screen again. I can see the chat dialog box, and I can still chat, but that's it! the rest is black and there's nothing I can do about it! How can I fix this ;-; Please someone help!

Do you have an alternate character? If you don't I think you can make one and delete it before the end of the month and it won't cost anything. Try to use that to contact a GM, you're probably stuck in the zone somehow..... :x

I've had this before! Just manually close FFXI, and reopen it. It should work :)

Sounds like you might have bad files, either the files were corrupted some how or bad sectors on your hard drive. Same thing happened to me in einherjar. Do I file check in POL to see if all the files are good if that doesn't turn anything up do a file check on your hard drive see if there is anything wrong with your hard drive. Also if possible try logging with a different PC or console and see if this is just related to your PC/Console only.

Orz, sorry, didn't see that in the OP. That's so odd.... Sorry I can't help any more :( You can still chat, so maybe /tell a friend to call a GM for you?

I will have to try that tomorrow... could it be because I'm still using the windower after the update? When I log in, I get a message popup that says 'play online has experienced an error and needs to close' but I just totally ignore it, lol. Instead of clicking 'send' or 'don't send' I just move the message aside and continue playing until I'm done... then I'll deal with the pop up message.

HAhahahaha, okay, you should try logging in without it and see if that helps. And if it does, unload your recast plugin in your init file:

Go to your Windower folder >> Scripts >> init, then put // in front of "load Recast" or you can delete it altogether. Save the text file, and try to open FFXI through Windower again. :)

Btw, if you're going to call a GM, um... don't mention you're using Windower. >_>

Have you tried logging into FFXI without using Windower? That's a sure fire way of determining whether it's a POL problem or a Windower problem. Same result = not a Windower problem.

I have no clue on this one @.@ i suspect windower with interfere with it however, since the upate windower seems to have affected a few people...

I think you can contact someone online on the playonline site, maybe you should try contact them if all else fails.

This was the problem. I did this and it fixed it. Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions :) I really hope they fix windower soon, I miss my recast times badly x.x;
