um... maybe solo the pop items needed for him. Breakga, massive magic damage, and eat-you-alive physical attacks. No chance in hell.

I guess one possible way would be to have movement speed, MDB/earth set and Chi Blast him to death for hours @.@

Faith moves at 125%, so even with movement plus, he'll catch you.

Solo on any job would be very tough for this. Seen that one notorious MNK/NIN with capped Counter do something like chain 4 or chain 5 solo on Euhvi, but that's a lot different than JoFaith.

Faith has +25% movement speed, even taking corners as tightly as possible around the hole you can't kite it without taking hits. It also has breakga and stonega III which you won't run out of range of in time.

It is true he has increased movement speed, but think of how often he stops to cast. Most normal fights involve a pld kiting and running out of range of most of his spells.

You're thinking of Jailer of fortitude, which I have solo'd (22 times before getting the drop).

He WILL catch up solo. Half the strategy of a kiter not getting owend by Faith is distributing hate between two kiters. Solo, he will annihilate you, even if he stops to cast four million times.

lol, i'm by no means advocating it. But solo kite is still easy enough. Usually go at him with 8 or so. 1-2 DD, pld, smn or two, and support.

Solo kite and solo are completely different things. A solo kiter would get owned without the support. I've been the solo kiter many times and it's difficult, even with support, not to get owned. Melee hits are super strong, his magic is mega, and he moves faster than you, even with enhanced movement speed.

There is just no way on earth you can survive solo. One breakga and you're dead. And yes, it will land, no matter how fast you run.

I've soloed on COR a couple of times and assume the method is the same; you ignore the pets and keep running, or you can try to depop them. Both ways work, but depopping them might be a bit risky as you have to run through potential aggro. Sometimes the pets will stand still as well and might screw up the kiting...

Kite/Boost
/equip head "Arh. Jinpachi +1"
/equip body "Arhat's Gi +1"
/equip hands "Tpl. Gloves +1"
/equip legs "Byakko's Haidate"
/equip ring2 "Soil Ring"
/equip feet "Hermes' Sandals"
/equip neck "Evasion Torque"
/equip ear2 "Ethereal Earring"
/equip range "Mamoolbane" (For pulling in case I lose hate kiting)
/equip back "Shadow Mantle"
/equip ring1 "Jelly Ring"
/equip waist "Black Belt"
/equip main "Earth Staff"
/equip ear1 "Loquacious Earring"

For boost, I swap a visible piece of gear and swap it back to blink out the animation so I don't stop.

Right as the last boost hits, I use this macro

/equip main "Kirin's Pole"
/equip range "Mamoolbane"
/equip head "Tpl. Crown +1"
/equip neck "Faith Torque"
/equip ear1 "Harvest Earring"
/equip ear2 "Geist Earring"
/equip body "Kirin's Osode"
/equip hands "Devotee's Mitts"
/equip ring1 "Sapphire Ring"
/equip ring2 "Sapphire Ring"
/equip back "Melee Cape"
/equip waist "Black Belt"
/equip legs "Tpl. Hose +1"
/equip feet "Suzaku's Sune-Ate"
/ja "Chi Blast" <t>

Then I go back to my PDT and repeat.

I cast shadows between boosts as needed. I didn't need any meds, but I have capped invig (10/tic regen totaling to about +400 hp) as well as the chakra itself, which at the time I used

/equip Body "Tpl. Cyclas +1"
/equip Ammo "Bibiki Seashell"
/equip Feet "Power Sandals"
/equip ring1 "Soil Ring"
/equip head "Genbu's Kabuto"
/equip waist "Warwolf Belt"
/equip ring2 "Soil Ring"
/equip hands "Melee Gloves"
/equip neck "Vit +2 neck"
/equip legs "Kensei Sitabaki"
/equip ear2 "Robust Earring"
/equip back "Melee Cape"
/equip ear1 "Eta Earring"
/ja "Chakra" Vegetto

Which with the earth staff, would give me just under 400.

My current chakra build is what I consider to be perfect, outside of augmented items.

Swap neck for fortitude torque and that's about the best you'll get.

As for the pets, I find getting rid of them to be a necessity. Deaggro yes. You run around the zone (make sure you know it well) in hermes'. Even if you get extra aggro, there is nothing you can't outrun. The best way to lose them early is to get close enough for the adds to cast a spell then dart off in the opposite direction. If you get far enough, by the time they're done casting, they will have deaggro'd.

I've got him to 40% without deaggroing them once, lol. I bet Torque would've dropped on that one. :<

It is possible to do it without deaggroing them, but it will make life 1000 times easier, so there's not really any reason not to.

You can also zone them at a nearby teleporter, but it's hard to pull Fortitude on his own afterwards if they get together again.

Well, i can imagine it being easier on cor, just straight kiting, but mnk you'll be using boost every 15 secs, and while the gear swaps help, sometimes they don't go through and I can see that being a real *** w/ the adds. It takes less than 5 mins to lose them. There's no real reason not to. (besides if you get too far ahead of one it may turn and come from the other direction, which can be a ***, lol)

Nope. That's about the only use I have for chi blast, so I just grabbed what I have laying around. I don't think I've used that set since I got my torque which has to have been at least half a year ago.

About 4-6 hours on average for mnk solo on a stack of 12, plus a lot of lost exp from unlucky situations. I would sell the virtue from fortitude and buy as many M chips as I could w/ that money and then farm the rest. (Though hard to find sellers at times). I'd say about half of my total M chips were farmed and the other half bought.
